Crickets, etc...

Nope, not the eternally-hip Buddy Holly-related Crickets, either--crickets as in "whoa, it sure is quiet out there!" Rather tough to write a blog entry on a seriously slow news day, so I'll give in to the temptation of linking to a few rumors which may--or may not--grow into something substantial as the afternoon rolls on:

Did Simon Cowell call Bucky "the one who has most improved from week to week" during an L.A. radio interview? No confirmation yet, but it's inspired a little conversation at the Fox boards. (And in a semi-related and equally unconfirmed--but fun--quote, Bo Bice is said to have named his favorites from the current season, and the "Southern rocker" was among them.)

According to yesterday's Extra, someone is doing "Bohemian Rhapsody" this Tuesday. Over at TWoP, they're pretty sure it's not Bucky, but the rumors about who it might be are fun...

Another great wallpaper has been posted at IDF, featuring "classic" Bucky from the semifinals.

And are you interested in following in Bucky's brave footsteps...well, sort of? You too can know the thrill--joy?--er, sensation of being part of yet another Simon Cowell reality juggernaut. Click here, and hurry--auditions are going on right now. (I don't think I'd even reach the semifinals in a "blogging idol" competition, so if you go, I won't see you there. But I just might blog about ya.)

Fingers crossed for some actual news today--more later!

  1. Hi, Jeena! It was in the Richmond County Daily Journal article from a few days back--from Thursday's "Quickest Post Ever". Here's the excerpt:

    ***********

Bucky has gained another superstar fan.

Last week, "Idol" season four winner Carrie Underwood sent a text message throwing her support behind Bucky. This week, country superstar Travis Tritt, who was in the audience Wednesday night, joined Bucky’s bandwagon.

"Travis Tritt, after the show, went up to the security guard and told him he wanted to meet Bucky right quick," Rocky said. "Travis Tritt gave him a signed album and autographed it to 'Bucky, the guy who puts the drive in the country.'"

Earlier Wednesday, two Rascal Flatts members gave their blessing to Bucky on ABC’s "The View."

    Pretty cool, yes?

  2. There's a pattern, isn't there? Sonny West, Rascal Flatts, now Travis Tritt--the entertainment writers give Bucky a hard time, but people who actually successfully do what he's going to be doing in the music world seem to kind of dig him...says something, doesn't it? =)
