A few summer photo memories, a Wrangler affair, and a request reminder...

Bucky Covington on stage at the Greeley Stampede in Greeley, CO; thanks again to the very kind Judy Lang for both of tonight's striking photos.

The summer may be winding down, but a few sweet photo memories from Bucky Covington's warm-weather tour days are popping up--Sheridan Media has several shots from Bucky's opening set for Blake Shelton during the Sheridan Wyoming Rodeo, and the Merced County Fair's photo album includes four fun images of Bucky on stage and with fans. (If you'd like to capture some concert memories of your own, there's no better time than now. See Bucky's MySpace calendar, Buckytown USA's concert sidebar and Bucky Covington's official tour page for the latest live news.)

Catching Bucky on the radio is easy--especially when you call your local country DJ tonight and ask for "I Want My Life Back"! If there's a syndicated show on your airwaves right now, feel free to use the handy contact info below to reach out to your host or hostess of choice:

And a quick reminder about tomorrow's tour stop at The Wrangler in Elk Grove, CA--I haven't yet had the pleasure of seeing Bucky and his excellent band at one of these intimate, 21-and-over venues, but those who have tell me it is a rowdy, rockin' experience not to be missed! If you're in the area, it's a must. Tickets are limited--they're $20, and you can grab yours at eTix. The same goes for Friday night's show at San Jose's Rodeo Club, of course; get your tickets at KRTY (750 Story Road in San Jose, $15 in advance) or pay $20 at the door. A wild Western time is just a day or two away...

Have a great night!

Very quick Wednesday news: Bucky Covington's California ride begins...

Bucky Covington on stage at Country Jam USA in Colorado earlier this year; thanks to our kind friend Diver for providing this great concert shot.

It's a very slow news morning so far, but we do have a couple of reminders to share:

Looks like that short-notice Bucky Covington show at the KJUG Courtyard in Visalia, CA tonight is going to be a hot one! You can still get in on it--local fans with flexible schedules are in for a treat this evening at 7 pm. Tickets ($10) are available online at the station's site--pick them up at will call, and you're good to go. (There's a map to the courtyard behind that link, as well.) Have fun, and please take your camera...

Bucky's current single "I Want My Life Back" [hear it here] will be a highlight of the set tonight, and it's poised to re-enter the Top 30 this week with some request-line love from us. This morning, it's #31 with a bullet, and while the effects of that weekend countdown boost are waning, there's still plenty of momentum for us to use today. (Call up your local country station, and give WKML's Larry K a hello as well with a request for "I Want My Life Back" at country@wkml.com. It's always a pleasure to hear Bucky on his local "Top 5 at 6"!)

Ducky Medlock, Jeff Cease, Rocky Covington and Bucky Covington rocked the Indiana State Fair last week; thanks again to the talented Judy Lang for the image.

We'll wrap it up with some fall show notes: Tickets are on sale now for Bucky's post-race concert at the Kroger On Track for the Cure 250 on October 24 in Memphis (call 1-866-40-SPEED, or buy tickets online at MemphisMotorsportsPark.com.) And be sure to catch Bucky and the band at the York Fair in York, PA on WGTY's Great Country Radio Stage September 13th; the concert's included with fair admission.

Have a fantastic Wednesday!

Quick news: win Bucky Covington tickets, poll update, more...

A "hat photo", by special request: Bucky Covington sings out at the Boone County Fair in this great concert shot by the talented Judy Lang. Click the image to find out when Bucky (and his hat) will be performing near you...

Just a few quick tidbits to get the evening started:

We're taking a break from our own polls to promote a couple of good ones in the upper right hand corner--feel free to vote for Bucky Covington as a write-in candidate at Country Weekly during their "Country's Sexiest Men" survey (ends September 14th), and check out Country Music is Love's weekly poll--this time, they're asking you to choose your "favorite twins". Looks like there are quite a few twins on the current country scene--we like 'em all, but Bucky and Rocky Covington got our vote... (Thanks to a very kind friend for the heads-up.)

Love contests and free concert tickets? Two great country stations have giveaways in progress, and you just might enjoy Bucky's amazing live show on the house. We mentioned US99's Chicago-area ticket stops in this morning's post; details are available on the station's site, and your chance to listen and win tickets for Bucky's September 8th show at Joe's Bar could come at any time. Akron, Ohio's WQMX has a fun contest in progress, too--listen to win tickets to one of his two September 14th shows at the Wayne County Fair in Wooster, and be entered for a chance to win a VIP style trip for two to see Bucky in Las Vegas. Details are here--good luck to all!

Thanks to the Scott Saunders fan who asked for this Judy Lang concert shot--Scott and Bucky Covington rocked the crowd in Belvidere, and if you'd like to get a taste of how great they sound together, click the photo to enjoy dcmandeville's "Unchain My Heart" video at YouTube.

Last but definitely not least, we'll post that request info early--"I Want My Life Back" is enjoying a strong second wind, and we can give it an extra bost with some well-placed phone calls tonight! Contact your local live country DJ, or call your favorite syndicated star:

Enjoy your early evening!

Tuesday news: Bucky Covington's "I Want My Life Back" gets a new look, added shows, ways to win in Chicago and more...

A new month, a new promo shot! Bucky Covington's brilliant in blue in this photo from a newly-circulating Lyric Street ad for his current single, "I Want My Life Back". Click the image to listen to the song at Bucky's official MySpace.

September's here--depending upon where you live, you're feeling a little crispness in the air already. It's been a long and somewhat languid summer (especially on the country charts!) but the pace is picking up. Bucky Covington's "I Want My Life Back" starts September sporting the biggest bullet we've seen in weeks, and both Bucky and his label are backing the song with some action in the form of added concert dates, new trade ads and--coming up--a much-anticipated music video.

The big question is--can we hang in there, too? Yep, we can, and we've proven it. Bucky's first hit, "A Different World", made its radio debut in December, 2006 and hit its #6 peak in July, 2007. As frustrating as they are, long chart rides are nothing new for us...and from the size of that bullet, it looks like the ride is getting sweeter with the new season. See you on the request lines...

A vintage concert shot from this spring, posted by request: Rocky Covington and Bucky Covington on stage in Winchester, as captured by our good friend Happydays. Thanks again!

Most of today's news came in last night--we wanted to do an autumn concert roundup, but new dates are popping up and/or being confirmed so fast we'll just go with the flow! Here's a quick look at the live fun in store this week...so far:

  • Tomorrow, Bucky and company play a Signature Series show at the KJUG Courtyard in Visalia, CA: buy tickets ($10) online at the station's site for will-call pick up, and have a great time!
  • San Jose fans can catch Bucky and the band at the Rodeo Club on Friday, 9/4; tickets are available at KRTY, 750 Story Road in San Jose. They'll be $10 for the first 100, $15 advance during regular business hours (9 to 5, Monday-Friday) and $20 at the door.
  • On Saturday, 9/5, get ready to rock with Bucky and company at the Inter-Mountain Fair in McArthur, CA; call the fair at (530)336-5695 for tickets.

Next week (9/8), Bucky and his band play a listen-to-win concert at Joe's Bar in Chicago as part of US99's Live Country at Joe's--check out that page for additional chances to win tickets locally tomorrow and Thursday. Good luck!

Back with more very soon--enjoy your Tuesday, everyone!--Winnie
