John Dixon's terrific portrait of Bucky Covington and the Star-Spangled Banner is just the tip of the iceberg--check out many more of his beautiful shots in the gallery at Bucky's official site. Many thanks to Mr. Dixon for his generosity!
Lots of news for this very late night post! The highly-anticipated video for "Drinking Side of Country", starring Bucky Covington and Shooter Jennings, debuts at 9am Central on Tuesday, July 24th (tomorrow!) at Maxim.com. Bucky recently spent some time with the legendary Hazel Smith, who featured him in Monday's Hot Dish column at CMT. Among the highlights:
I had to know what it was like working with Shooter, so I asked, "Bucky, when you were producing Shooter, did you ever just stop and say to yourself, 'That's Waylon Jennings' son'?"
With that, Bucky dropped his head and reached for my hand. He didn't say. He didn't have to.
Bucky and Shooter's duet was reviewed at Taste of Country over the weekend--and there's an embedded audio clip, too. Be sure to check it out now, and get ready to buy it on iTunes July 31st! But that's not all; Bucky Tweeted "Make sure you pick up Country Weekly now to see how I spend my time at home!" and shared this link to a big Facebook gallery of photos from the video shoot and this beautiful shot from a camping adventure. Thanks, Bucky!
After a private show at the IAFF Convention on July 24th, Bucky has live concert stops at the Boone County Fair in Danville, WV on August 3rd, the Obion County Fair in Union City, TN on August 16th and the Parkersburg Homecoming Festival on August 17th. For more info on Bucky's live dates, check out his calendar at eOne; and for the best in country music television entertainment, vote for Bucky and "I Wanna Be That Feeling" at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown and CMT Pure's Pure 12 Pack.
I'm still on the road, but I'll try to update as best I can before I (finally) get back home on Wednesday. Take care and enjoy the video, everyone!--W
