Tuesday news: Bucky Covington's schedule changes, and a few reminders...

Bucky Covington on stage in Turlock, CA; thanks to Minnie for this sunlit vintage concert photo.

Bucky Covington's
previously scheduled concert tomorrow at the Santa Cruz County Fair has been canceled due to the passing away of his and Rocky's grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Shoe Covington, yesterday in Rockingham. Our hearts and prayers go out to the Covington family.

At post time, Bucky's performance schedule this week is as follows, with a newly added date on Sunday:

Thursday, September 17: Bucky and his band are set to play the grandstand at the Utah State Fair in Salt Lake City. Music begins at 7:30 pm, and the show is free with gate admission (seating ticket required.)

Saturday, September 19: The tour bus heads back East for the Y108 Thrillbilly Bash in Pittsburgh; tickets are available online, or call 1-888-71TICKET to purchase by phone.

Sunday, September 20th: Just added! Bucky and his band open for ZZ Top at the Sovereign Center in Reading, PA; more info and a ticket link are available at the venue's site.

Another recently added show, a November 10th stop at the the Jacksonville (FL) Fair, is shaping up to be a popular stop for lots of Bucky's Southern fans. An advance fair admission ticket discount is in progress, and VIP seating is an additional $10. (You'll want to be up front for this...)

Jeff Cease, Ducky Medlock, Steve Cook and Bucky Covington on stage at the KJJY Big Country Bash earlier this year; thanks again to Judy Lang for the terrific photo.

Bucky's MySpace calendar, Buckytown USA's concert sidebar and Bucky's official tour page are three bookmarks that'll make the fall concert season easier. Hope you can make it to at least one--or more!

No matter where we are, we have the ability to give Bucky a round of applause courtesy of our local country station's request lines. "I Want My Life Back" (#34 on Mediabase this morning) is a beautiful addition to those noon request hour or drivetime shows--so feel free to show him some affection on the phones today. Bucky Covington's second album is due in stores in a few weeks; we'd love to hear him as often as possible on the air between now and then, and beyond...

Take care out there, everyone--Winnie
