Sunday news: Bucky Covington's set list grows, chart check and more...

By request, here's a close-up glimpse of Bucky Covington on stage at the Alameda County Fair--thanks to the very talented Minnie for the photo.

It's a slow news Sunday so far, but we've got a few gentle reminders to share:

Bucky Covington's beautiful new single. "I Want My Life Back", is probably enjoying some airtime on a radio near you right now, courtesy of Kix Brooks' American Country Countdown and Bob Kingsley's Country Top 40. (If you missed the countdowns this morning, no worries-- both shows feature station affiliate lists on their sites, and Radiotime will give you all the info on your streaming options today.) And when live programming begins again where you are, be sure to keep your local request line number with you...

Almost last call for Grand Ole Opry tickets: Bucky and a bunch of hot country notables (check out the latest lineup at Opry.com) will grace the stage on Tuesday, August 11th, and there's still time for you to snag a seat! This blog post at Bucky's MySpace has the scoop on the show, including a coupon code, and WSM will broadcast the Opry live, as always. Hope you can get to Nashville--Bucky at the Opry is a sheer delight!

Coming up: the Boone County Fair in Belvidere, IL on Wednesday, 8/12, and the WSLC Star B-Q in Roanoke, VA with Jessica Harp, Saturday, 8/15. (Bookmark Bucky's MySpace calendar, Buckytown USA's concert sidebar and Bucky Covington's official tour page for the latest, and get ready for a rockin' show.)

Speaking of Bucky's show, word has it that he added a few new tunes to his live set that we hope will be captured on fan video soon--"Giants" and a country take on the classic "Unchain My Heart" were reportedly part of the fare this week, and they're said to be terrific. (See why that set of concert links gets re-posted all the time? Go! And be sure to bring a camera...)

We'll wrap it up with a quick chart check--"I Want My Life Back" is #36 with a bullet as of the Saturday afternoon Mediabase post; this weekend's countdown boost should help those numbers by tonight's--or tomorrow morning's--chart update. (Our requests will definitely add some ooomph to that boost, as well.)

Another requested encore shot--Bucky Covington sings of "Daddy's belt" in Pleasanton, CA in this terrific photo by Minnie. Thanks again!

I also wanted to say a big thank you to all who commented or emailed about yesterday's post--one of the best things about the genuinely cool people Bucky Covington has attracted as fans is that we really do focus on the best ways to support that multi-decade career plan of his, no matter what. (I have to confess to an ulterior, somewhat greedy motive for all my cheerleading here, though--I really enjoy that voice and that band live and on CD, and I want more music for years, thanks!)

We all "met" because of a mutual desire to see a truly talented and gracious guy make it in one of the toughest businesses on earth--and you know what? So far, so good. Even in a rough chart summer for new artists in general, the buzz around the tour, the song and the new album is immense. It's going to be a beautiful fall, y'all.

More every soon--have a sweet Sunday!--Winnie
