Scott Saunders and Bucky Covington share some stage time in this great photo from KJJY's Big Country Bash in Des Moines; thanks to our talented friend Janie for the shot.Bucky Covington and his band finish their Western weekend today with a show way up north in Dauphin, Manitoba, where Dauphin's Countryfest is in progress with an all-day lineup of country notables on the Casinos at Winnipeg Main Stage. (Sunday day pass tickets might be available on a will call/at the gate basis; call 1.800-361.7300 or 1.204-622.3700, or email the fest at cfest@mts.net for information.)
Last night in Greeley, the Stampede show featuring Bucky and Blake Shelton was a big hit--here's a repeat link to that first coverage from the Greely Tribune. It was also covered by the very gracious Hildi and her helpers, who sponsored a conference call from the concert. Those of us offline last night missed the sweet surprise, but those who listened in enjoyed the party! Thanks to Hildi and crew for sharing the fun.
Bucky Covington tosses a guitar pick into the crowd in this concert shot taken in Des Moines; thanks to the very kind Judy Lang for the image. If you can't be in Dauphin, never fear--it's very likely that Bucky's on your radio right now (or will be soon) thanks to Kix Brooks' American Country Countdown and Bob Kingsley's Country Top 40 . If your station doesn't carry either of these popular countdowns, be sure to check Radiotime for streaming options and airtimes. Bucky's latest is #32 on today's morning Mediabase published charts...but we need a much, much bigger bullet, y'all. With Top 30 (and more countdowns, and much more momentum) in such close reach, this week's requests will be vital! We're down to a mere two months--give or take a few days--before Bucky's next album is released on September 8th. Wouldn't it be sweet to see the first single from the new CD hit #1? (Silly question, I know...)
We've got a couple of new video links (and a link to bookmark for future photos) to wrap up this Sunday update--be sure to check K99's photo galleries later today and tomorrow for some hot-off-the-presses Greeley Stampede shots, and enjoy a couple of "blast from the recent past" videos freshly uploaded to YouTube, too. DiamondstarBC generously shared this "I'll Walk" performance from Bucky's Harker Heights show a few weeks back, and the Riverfront Stages get revisited in this rockin' "Bible and the Belt" clip by Snowbird324. Major thanks to both talented videographers for posting these!
Back with more later today. Hope your holiday weekend is beautiful!--Winnie
