Bucky Covington's Palmdale show last night was a big hit! A very kind concertgoer stopped in to share a bit of the evening with us in last night's comments section; here's a taste of that terrific post:
As usual, it was windy outside, so much so that early in the show Bucky said "I ate enough hair" and put on a black hat a fan had given him 2 days ago. He teased those of the audience that didn't have his album. A Loud Guy made some crack so Bucky walked on over and pointed him out and with a smile said, "I have the mike. I win." Loud Guy was seen cheering Bucky on several times and waving his arms later in the concert so Bucky won him over.
Other highlights: Bucky growling "Rawrrrr!," telling us that living by a lake in Nashville "doesn't suck," walking out into the audience and bouncing up and down like Tigger during "It's Good To Be Us," and trotting out a Pink Floyd song and that Georgia Satellites song that goes "My honey, my baby don't keep my love upon no shelf · She says, "Don't give me no lines and keep your hands to yourself!"
Bucky's North Carolina country roots are so genuine. He doesn't have to prop up sheet music and attempt to sing in the key of Twang. His drawl and personality are pure country, through and through. So to sum it up, Bucky's fun, winning personality and good singing got the crowd on its feet and we all had a slam-bang time!
Huge thanks to our eloquent anonymous friend for capturing the fun of Bucky Covington and company live. Tonight, they'll rock the stage at the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton CA. You can buy a ticket to the Fair online, and the concerts are free with admission. Bucky and the band have tons of tour dates lined up all the way through fall--bookmark Buckytown USA's concert sidebar and Bucky Covington's official tour page and be sure to be there when the tour bus stops near you...

Bucky Covington at the KJJY Big Country Bash in Des Moines; thanks again to the talented Judy Lang.
In the meantime, it's countdown Sunday, and being near a radio will pay off in a big way this morning and afternoon. "I Want My Life Back" [hear Bucky Covington's new single at his MySpace] is part of both Kix Brooks' American Country Countdown and Bob Kingsley's Country Top 40 today--check Radiotime for streaming options, and when live programming resumes, feel free to put in a good word for Bucky's latest on your country station's request line, as well.
The song's weathering all the superstar releases this week with grace--and a bullet--at #36 on the Mediabase published chart this morning. That countdown airplay will give Bucky some sweet momentum for us to build on with our requests, so don't be shy about picking up that phone...
Back with a bit more news very soon--enjoy your Sunday!--Winnie
Just wanted to say "thank you" to the anonymous comments recapper. That was an awesome recap...thanks for sharing! :)
