Bucky Covington's offficial Twitter got an update after yesterday's Buck Owens Crystal Palace concert in Bakersfield--read it to find out what the after-show priorities were last night, and check out KUZZ's Brent Michaels' message in reply to Bucky for a first review of the show. (Sounds like Bakersfield loved them some Bucky and company, but is that any surprise? They rock live--click here to find out when you can enjoy a stop or two on Bucky's summer concert schedule.)
And here's a Twitter photo treat, as well--check out this fuzzy but cool tour bus shot of Bucky and Rocky Covington (with Scott Saunders almost hidden behind Rocky) via @kuzzradio. Thanks to KUZZ for all their Twitter savvy!
Tonight, Bucky and his excellent band play the Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino in Indio, CA;

On the chart front--another day, another superstar polevault. (Sigh.) "I Want My Life Back" [hear Bucky Covington's new single at his MySpace] is one of a whole group of newer-artist's singles getting leapfrogged by a virtual CMA-Fest's worth of country superstars' songs released this week and last. Like most of the Top 30 contenders at the moment, Bucky's song has a lower number (it's #36 as of today's Mediabase update) while keeping the bright red bullet that indicates upward movement. It's a slower and steadier climb, but it is a climb, y'all. We'll take heart and keep requesting! The storm's not over yet, and a few more big names are right behind Bucky and his new-artist cohorts--but the faster pace will pick up soon.
One way to help ride out the turbulence is to keep that "Top 5 at 6" streak going at WKML; an email to our good friend Larry K at country@wkml.com requesting "I Want My Life Back" for the countdown will make it a three-in-a-row, and it's good practice for the countdowns and lunchtime request shows at your local country station, too. Every phone call and email helps...
We'll kick off Friday with a little tropical relaxation--can't beat sun, sand and something cool and frosty to drink, can we? This fun "Mexicoma" performance is the perfect soundtrack for a summer weekend; many thanks to buckyandrockytxfan for capturing it at the Odessa show and sharing it at YouTube. (And if it inspires a desire to see and hear Bucky and his band do this one in person, here's that tour link again...) Happy Friday!--Winnie
