Quick Monday morning news: Bucky Covington's rodeo days, Buckytown USA, a pivotal chart week and more...

Bucky Covington at Country Jam--huge thanks to Diver for the stunning concert shots!
Our very kind friend Diver shared this terrific shot from Bucky Covington's performance at the Country Jam in Grand Junction, CO--thanks again to her for her generosity!

Here's a fast bulletin-style update to get the week rolling...

Bucky Covington and his excellent band have a little bit of a breather and some traveling time ahead; he'll be playing the Sheridan Wyoming Rodeo along with Blake Shelton on Friday, July 3rd, and it looks like Wyoming is very eager to see and hear these two gentlemen. A quick check at MaxWeb points to a sell-out on the horizon, so if you're planning to hit this show, snag your ticket now.

Coming up: a hot Fourth of July with Bucky at the Greeley Stampede in Greeley, CO (congratulations to all Bucky's Colorado fans--what a great way to spend the 4th!) and a much-anticipated Canadian show at Dauphin's Countryfest in Manitoba on Sunday, July 5th. Only Sunday passes are left for the latter event--and chances are they're goin' fast as well, so get 'em while you can...

Bucky Covington and Steve Cook in Portales; thanks, AmaTexMom!Bucky Covington and Steve Cook rocked the house in Portales, NM; many thanks to our good friend AmaTexMom of Bucky Fan Pics for the shot.

Bucky's current hit, "I Want My Life Back" [hear Bucky Covington's new single at his MySpace] is flirting bigtime with that Top 30 status; at last check on Sunday night, it was #31 on the Mediabase published chart, and #30 on the all-stations list. I'll resist the temptation to go on--again--about how crucially important that Top 30 mark is, how many more countdowns and stations it'll mean for Bucky, or how incredibly cool that fourth consecutive official Billboard hit will feel. I'll just say three little words: we'll keep requesting! Our local country DJs, our favorite syndicated hosts and hostesses, and WKML's Larry K at country@wkml.com--all of them need to know how much we love hearing Bucky on the radio.

Finally, a timely reminder about that July 6th issue of Country Weekly with the fun photo of Bucky and his tattoo--be sure to snag your copy today! Here in the northeast, the newsstands usually get changed over on Tuesdays; not sure if that's the way it's done everywhere, but no matter what, the issue is pretty much a limited-time offer. Take a lunch break stroll to the magazine rack and enjoy...

I'll turn you over to the lovely and talented Fran and Renee at Buckytown USA, where the weekly update is always a delight, and be sure to check Steve Cook's brilliant Shiny Bass Journal for more keen observations from the road. See you later today!--Winnie
