Quick Friday news: Bucky Covington's Wild West weekend, audio memories, and more...

Another request for this photo came in: we aim to please! Rocky Covington (left) and Bucky Covington rock the house during the recent Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival concert in Winchester, Virginia in this great shot by Happydays. (Click here to see her terrific "Mexicoma" video at YouTube.) Thanks again to Happydays and Hildi.

The tour bus is rolling again, and Bucky Covington's fans out West are in for some fun this weekend! He and his excellent band have three big dates lined up: tonight's Flaming Gorge Days show in Green River, Wyoming, tomorrow afternoon's set at Country Jam USA in Grand Junction, Colorado, and Sunday's 92.5 KJJY's Big Country Bash at the Des Moines Water Works Park. (To keep up with the summertime concert fun, be sure to bookmark Buckytown USA's concert sidebar and Bucky Covington's official tour page for the latest, and get out to a show. You'll be glad you did.)

Rocky Covington and Bucky Covington on stage in Winchester, VA earlier this year; many thanks to Happydays for the photo and to our good friend R. for requesting today's shots.

On the radio, "I Want My Life Back" [hear Bucky's new single at his MySpace] is looking for our requests today and all this weekend; the song got a mention in Rodney Ho's Idol blog at the Atlanta-Journal Constitution today, but the biggest news is that it's regained that #33 spot on the Mediabase published charts this morning, with a slightly bigger bullet. (Repeat after me, y'all: there's no such thing as a too-big bullet. The bigger, the better!) We're hoping that the momentum Mr. Ho alluded to picks up in a major way between the weekend countdowns, the newly-minted fans Bucky's bound to attract out West in the next three days, and our requests. Top 30 is so very, very close...

We'll close for the time being with a fun Twittered shot from Willie Beamon's that you might have missed, courtesy of @neenals. (Gotta love that smile!) And for a "blast from the recent past" audio treat, click here and scroll down to enjoy Bucky's surprising slimness secrets and a bit of "I'll Walk" background from his interview with K-FROG's Frogmen in the Morning show at the ACM Awards. (However, do not take that "back off" advice!)

More later--enjoy your Friday!--Winnie

  1. Grrrrr...sorry for all the typos today. Allergy medicine is making me unsuited to operate heavy machinery...like this keyboard. :) Have a great weekend, everyone!
