Bucky Covington sings from the heart at the KNCI Country in the Park concert in Sacramento; photo by our very talented friend Minnie, who shares more of her excellent shots from the show in her Photobucket gallery. Thanks again, Minnie!
Bucky Covington's upcoming second album (and doesn't it feel good to think about that?) is the subject of his most recent News feature at GAC. Bucky's quote indicates that he's eager to take the time to focus on quality:
"When a lot of people come up, they have all the time in the world for the first album, and then the second album is rushed," he explains. "I’m kinda opposite. I had no time for the first album, and now I got a lot more time for the second album."
His new single, "I'll Walk", was mentioned in the article as well, and it finishes the day at #57 on the Mediabase weighted chart and #51 on the Top 500. (If your local country station's playing it now, feel free to request! And if it isn't--yet--keep listening for those songfights and challenges...)

The live party rolls on, too--as Steve Cook mentioned in his excellent journal at Shiny Bass, Bucky's last official Throttle Wide Open show is in the rear view mirror, but there's plenty of concert fun on the horizon. The Dutchess County Fair site has been updated with new information (including ticket links) on Bucky's August 22nd show at the fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, New York with Keith Anderson.
Shows coming up in May: see Bucky and his brilliant band at the Wild West Bar and Grill in Canton, Georgia tomorrow (this is a Free for All show sponsored by 94.9 The Bull), at the WZZK Throwdown with Kellie Pickler, Sara Evans and Blake Shelton in downtown Birmingham on Saturday, May 10th (tickets via Ticketmaster), at the WOKK Birthday Bash at the Lauderdale County Agri-Center in Meridian, MS with Kellie Pickler on May 22nd, at the Grand Ole Opry on May 27th (tickets at the Opry's online box office, and there' s a discount coupon code, too) , at the Winfield Country Roundup in Kansas on Friday, May 30th at 8:30 p.m., and at Grizzly Rose in Denver on May 31st; this will be an all-ages show.
(Yep, Bucky and company are working hard to give you a great time this summer--be sure to get out and see them if you can.)
Finally, be sure to stop in at Country's Chatter, where some food for thought about Country Weekly's "Kings in Waiting" survey--and a great photo of Bucky--await you.
See you later tonight--Winnie
