Bucky Covington on stage at Hershey Park last spring; photo by our very gracious friend Aikenseeker. Thanks!Bucky Covington and his band are enjoying their time out West, and it looks like the audiences are feeling the love, too! The Arizona Daily Star's Country Thunder wrap-up blog entry gave Bucky and Billy Ray Cyrus' "Brown Eyed Girl" duet the informal but fun Duo of the Festival award, and while Billy Ray won't be around for the rest of Bucky's Western sweep, a good time is guaranteed when he hits your town. Catch him tomorrow at the Rushmore Plaza in Rapid City, South Dakota with headliner Dierks Bentley and Lee Brice (snag your seat at eAvenue) and see the Throttle Wide Open show at the Casper Events Center in Casper, Wyoming on Thursday.
And here's an important update on Friday's Colorado Springs show, which has been moved to a new venue:
AEG Live has announced that the DIERKS BENTLEY 2008 “Throttle Wide Open Tour” is changing venues to the Pikes Peak Center, in Colorado Springs, on Friday, April 25, 2008. Showtime is still 7:30PM. Doors will open at 6:30PM. Special guests Bucky Covington and Lee Brice will open the show.
All tickets from the World Arena show must be exchanged prior to entry to the Pikes Peak Center show. To avoid a delay at the Pikes Peak Center box office night of show, please exchange your tickets in advance at the Pikes Peak Center box office. Tickets for the original World Arena show can be exchanged beginning Wednesday April 16, 2008 at 10:00 AM and through the night of the show at the Pikes Peak Center box office (hours are Monday - Friday 10:00AM - 6:00PM and Saturday 10:00AM - 4:00PM). Exchanges will be made for comparable seats on a first come first served basis.
Get your Colorado Springs ticket at eAvenue, and enjoy the show! The tour calendar at Bucky's official site is a must-bookmark destination for his concert schedule at a glance. We'll keep you posted here, too!
True confessions--I can't help but have a special fondness for this clip. I was there! Here's a rocked-out "Bible and the Belt" from the Wildhorse Saloon, courtesy of the talented hourglass131. Thanks so much for posting this one!
On the radio, Bucky's upcoming single, "I'll Walk", is already beginning to flirt with Top 50 status--it rose to #68 with a bullet this morning, and 97.3/The Eagle in Norfolk was the most recent station to give it a taste of pre-release airtime. (Will your local country station be next? Keep listening...)
Bucky Covington, Ducky Medlock and Steve Cook rock the house at the Longbranch Saloon in N.C.; photo by the very kind Pizzi. Thanks so much!Around the net, you'll find some amazing concert shots (that profile of Dierks Bentley is album-cover worthy!) and a heads-up on tomorrow's CMT Power Picks at Midask9's It's Good to Be Us, and some well-written (and thought provoking) observations from the road at Steve Cook's Shiny Bass journal.
We'll call it a morning for now with some quick voting links--give "It's Good to Be Us" some springtime affection at the GAC Top 20 Country Countdown, and at the Duke's New Music Playoffs , as well.More very soon--have a great Tuesday!
