Another memorable performance of "I'll Walk", by request--here's Bucky Covington and his excellent band at the Texas Club in Baton Rouge, as captured by the very talented diamondstarbc. Thanks for writing!
If you're hearing Bucky Covington's latest single, "I'll Walk", on your local country radio station, congratulations--you're in great (and growing) company. Feel free to give your area DJs some positive feedback on the song! (Yep, we've said it here quite often--stations do like to know they're pleasing the locals, and a call to say you enjoyed the new Bucky Covington tune and would like to hear it again is always a nice touch...)
On the album sales front, Bucky Covington, the CD, sold 1300 copies this week according to Ken Barnes of USA Today's Idol Chatter blog, for a total of 339,000 and counting.
Thanks to a kind anonymous poster for the heads-up on the latest Radio & Records country singles chart; "I'll Walk" makes its official debut at #60 this week. Congrats, Bucky--the tune's off to a great start! More soon--Winnie
Official or unofficial, seems like "I'll Walk" is off to a good start. The only date I could find for release was May 5th, but I've only seen that one one site.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anon--I hope Lyric Street will buy one of those nice splashy trade ads to celebrate. The good start is a very good thing...
ReplyDeleteI wish LS would do something too. However, he is already on R&R with a 1 by number of weeks on chart, so it has started with lots of others debuting on R&R this week as well...Brooks and Dunn, Jason Alden....all already ahead.
ReplyDeleteHi Anon 8:14--sorry I missed you yesterday! Yep, you're right and I think Brooks and Dunn (longtime established hitmakers) and Jason Aldean (debut hit in 2005) are probably a more "automatic add" for radio than still-new Bucky might be. The good news is that he's off to a great start for a third hit for his first CD--and as we've all seen, slow and steady on the charts can be just as satisfying as quick leaps when it comes to how it all turns out. :) Thanks!
