Time sensitive update--Bucky Covington's next "It's Good to Be Us" quiz question will be posted at his MySpace blog at 12:30 p.m. ET. Head over there now for your next chance to win, and remember that one random winner of an autographed picture and grand prize entry will be chosen from all the posters who've answered the question correctly--but you've got to post your answer in the blog before Bucky's quiz-solving video appears. Good luck!
Congratulations to everyone who was able to make it out to the Crook & Chase taping yesterday in Nashville! Bucky Covington, Miranda Lambert and Randy Owen of Alabama were the guests. If you'd like to see the finished product, the show airs tomorrow night on the RFD channel at 9 p.m. ET. (Crook & Chase's site mentions that show re-airs on Fridays at 11:00 a.m. ET and Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. ET. Dish Network subscribers can watch RFD-TV on Channel 231, and DIRECTV customers will find it on Channel 379. (More brief cable info is available here--if you get RFD, please let us know what you thought of the show!)
CMT's Power Picks didn't go our way today (more details in comments soon) but we've got another chance tomorrow at 11 a.m. ET, when "It's Good to Be Us" returns for a fresh challenge. We'll be there!
Here's the rest of what's happening:
Chart news: As of this morning, "It's Good to Be Us" is a very close #17 on the Mediabase weighted chart, and #16 on the Top 500. (Number 15 is definitely taking the advice in its title today!) We'll keep requesting--as frustrating as these last two weeks or so have been, the bullets on both charts definitely point to the likelihood of our patience--and our requests--being rewarded. Hang in there, y'all. Every twenty or thirty year radio career was largely built one request at a time...Upcoming shows: The Throttle Wide Open tour is on a CRS hiatus, but Dierks, Bucky and Luke will be back on stage Thursday, 3/13 at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach; get your general admission tickets at Ticketmaster. Tickets for most of Dierks Bentley's Throttle Wide Open dates are available now at Ticketmaster--check Dierks' official website for details on non-Ticketmaster events. Seats for the Jackson, TN Dierks Bentley concert on April 3rd are available at the City of Jackson site.
Be sure to catch Bucky and his band at the Buffalo Bar in St. Joseph, MO on Friday, March 21; tickets are on sale at Biggins Sports Bar & Grill (816 232-4450) or Buffalo Bar at (816) 390-8444.
Rocky Covington and Ducky Medlock at the Murat Theatre in Indianapolis; photo by the very generous Buckaholic. See more of her beautiful images at Photobucket, and enjoy her concert recap at the CMT boards. Thanks again! On the tube and around the net: This morning's edition of The Covington Times is graced with that classic cover shot from Bucky's album, a great shot of Rocky Covington in concert sans ponytail, and some musings about the ACM "new artist" nominations that are well worth checking out. Midask9's It's Good to Be Us blog has a Power Picks reminder for you and a rather adorable snowman, too. (Go look!) And at the Gainesville Times, Carol Hurst--noted Alachua County buliding official, recipient of the first county Legacy Award and proud mother of Bucky's drummer Tom Hurst--is paid a terrific tribute today upon her retirement after thirty-two years of service to the community.
Vote for Bucky: We'll wrap Wednesday afternoon up for now with the video voting reminders--show "It's Good to Be Us" some love at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown, at CMT's Top 20 Countdown and CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack. (Today's the last day to vote for this week's 12-Pack--will Bucky return to the chart on Friday? Click that button and help make it happen...)More later today--enjoy your Wednesday!
Power Picks--"A Different World" lost to Taylor Swift's new video, I think the percentage was 47% Bucky. Not really bad considering old video vs. new one. Need a WIN tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteR&R for March 7th looks like Bucky went up 3 places from #18 to #15.

Thanks, Buckyflowers and Anon! BF, I think you're right--and no worries it's been such a wild chart week that we'll all be looking twice at everything! Working on an update even as we speak.
ReplyDeleteAnd Anon, yep--not bad at all considering. We really must have that win tomorrow!
