Tuesday news: a ticket alert, Safe Haven charity show, CMT Music Awards update, a USA Today look back and more..

Bucky Covington rocks the crowd at the Germain Arena in Estero, Florida; photo by the very kind Lisa/Judge. You can see more of her great images and graphics at her Buck Wild fan site. Thanks again, Lisa!

Here's a heads-up for Bucky Covington's very lucky Normal, Illinois fans, via The Pantagraph:

Illinois State University’s Braden Auditorium will return to the concert scene this spring with a show headlining platinum-selling country singer Dierks Bentley.

Bentley is bringing his “Throttle Wide Open Tour” to the venue at 7:30 p.m. April 11.

Also on the bill are fellow country singers Bucky Covington, of “American Idol” fame, and newcomer Luke Bryan.

Tickets are priced at $25.50 for ISU students, $37.50 for the public and $45 for special pit seating.

They go on sale at 10 a.m. March 21 via ISU’s Braden box office and area Ticketmaster outlets. The Braden number is (309) 438-5444.

But wait--there's more info! If you're a member of Dierks' All-Access Fan Club, your presale begins today at 10:00 am local time at Ticketmaster. (The Fan Club bundle will be available for sale at 10:00, too.) B104 has a page about the show on their site; could there be a radio presale on the horizon as well? Sign up for their Insider club and see...

And at USA Today, Ken Barnes wrote about the ups and downs of a current Idol country contestant in his Idol Chatter blog, and made a rather interesting reference to Bucky in the process. (Hmmmm...)

Here's the rest of what's happening today:

Chart news: Bucky's "It's Good to Be Us" is sitting pretty on the Mediabase weighted cart at #14, and at #13 on the Top 500. Our requests will help make those bullets a lot plumper...and this week is a very good time to pick up the phone. Several hits are making their way down from the very top of the charts--will Bucky's rising hit be one of the songs to take one of those coveted places? Request, vote, and stay tuned...

Upcoming shows: Illinois fans are fortunate--along with that Braden Auditorium show mentioned above, they'll have the chance to enjoy Bucky and his band a few days earlier on
April 9 at the Williamson County Pavilion in Marion. Lady Antebellum opens, and this promises to be a fantastic night of music! Get your tickets ($25) at Black Diamond Harley Davidson in Marion, Clayship Guitars in Carbondale and Main Street Records in Mount Vernon.

Coming up next: Bucky and his excellent band will rock the Buffalo Bar in St. Joseph, MO on Friday, March 21. Tickets can be bought at Biggins Sports Bar & Grill (816 232-4450) or Buffalo Bar at (816) 390-8444.

(Tickets for most of Dierks Bentley's Throttle Wide Open dates are available now at Ticketmaster--check Dierks' official website for details on non-Ticketmaster events. )

Edited to add an update from Safe Haven's site:

These tickets include VIP seating, a Meet & Greet with Danielle, a photo op, access to the Green Room, an event t-shirt and 2 drink tokens. This is an 18 years and up show. The show this year promises to be even bigger and better than last year!

This years' line-up includes Eric Church, Jimmy Wayne, Bucky Covington, Heidi Newfield (from Trick Pony), Keith Anderson & Carolyn Dawn Johnson and more . . .
Check Safe Haven's front page for information about how your donation helps the families they serve, whether you can be at the show or not--and congratulations to all of Bucky's Nashville-area fans who'll enjoy a terrific night of music for a very good cause.

On the tube and around the net: A very kind friend mentioned that Bucky was part of the "coming this week" promos for GAC Nights yesterday evening; the show is featuring their footage and interviews from CRS all week. We're not sure which night Bucky's segment will air, but we are sure he'll be terrific! Keep awatching and if you see Bucky's interview, drop us a line and let us know what we're missing...

The Covington Times
has three fun concert (and pre-concert) shots for you this morning, along with a link to a terrific interview video from March '07. And at Midask9's It's Good to Be Us blog, the good advice--and classic concert photos--are going strong. (We're so with both bloggers on the vital importance of the CMT Music Awards votes and the request line buzz...)

And be sure to catch the fun at Bucky's "It's Good to Be Us" contest this evening!
The next quiz question will be posted at his MySpace blog at 9 p.m. Get the details on the contest in this post, then stand by for your chance to qualify and win...

Finally, here's an update or two on the aforementioned CMT Music Awards. CMT's One Country charity initiative has sweetened the deal:

CMT One Country celebrates giving back to the community through acts of great kindness, civic participation and volunteerism. In this spirit, we are donating $2500 to the winners in each category of the 2008 CMT Music Awards for the charity of their choice. Now it’s your turn to demonstrate the power of one by choosing your favorite artists and charities who you would like to win on April 14.

All the artists and directors and their charities are listed and pictured here
; Bucky's chosen the USO as the recipient of the $2500 donation, should he take home the belt-buckle trophy that night. (If I know Bucky's fans well--and I think I do--all I can say is "look out, USO!") We'll have lots more about the CMT Music Awards in a special post later today (make that this week--real life is getting in the way of blogging time again!), but for now, cast a glance at our sidebar, where your chance to win a trip to the Awards (and get glamourized in the process!) is just a click away...and remember to register at CMT and vote---then ask everyone you know to join you!

Vote for Bucky: And as always--give "It's Good to Be Us" some love and affection at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown, at CMT's Top 20 Countdown and at CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack.

Whew--have a great Tuesday!
