The countdown starts now--voting for the 2008 CMT Music Awards ends in exactly one month, on April 11th, at 11:59 p.m. How many votes can Bucky Covington and his video for "A Different World" rack up in that time? We're hoping the answer is "a lot". If you've already voted, please pass those CMT registration and voting links to everyone you know. The big night--April 14th--is just around the corner, and we want Bucky to take a very special (buckle-shaped) memento home from that gala affair...

There's some buzz about another upcoming big night in Nashville--the second annual Danielle Peck & Friends Benefit Concert, a benefit for the Safe Haven Family Shelter, takes place on Monday, March 24th at The Mercy Lounge in downtown Nashville. Bucky and many of his GAC Christmas Tour co-stars were present at last year's benefit; this year's list of performers includes Eric Church, Jimmy Wayne, Heidi Newfield (from Trick Pony), Keith Anderson & Carolyn Dawn Johnson "and more". We're not sure if Bucky's going to be part of that "and more", but it might be a good idea to bookmark Safe Haven's site and stay tuned--and if you're in the area, go out and enjoy a great night of country music for a good cause. Advance tickets, $10, are available at Ticket Web, and tickets will be $13 at the door. All proceeds from the concert will benefit the Safe Haven Family Shelter. Hope you'll be there! (Thanks to Mel for the tip.)

Here's a quick look at the rest of the news:

Click here to see Bucky Covington's video, It's Good to Be Us, on CMT LoadedChart news: "It's Good to Be Us" spends another morning flirting with the Top Ten at #15 on the Mediabase weighted chart and #14 on the Top 500. If you've been shy about requests, now's the time to go for it! Both those fun nationally syndicated country radio shows (in the evening) and your local "lunchtime requests" and "Top X at X" shows (right now) are fine places to start. There are a few mature hits headed down the chart--we want to be in prime position to fill in those spaces. as we move up Every call helps...

Upcoming shows: Bet you can recite what follows by heart right about now! We've missed the fun photos and reports from the Throttle Wide Open shows, too, but Dierks Bentley, Bucky Covington and Luke Bryan will make it worth the wait at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach on Thursday, 3/13. General admission tickets may still be available at Ticketmaster--if you're going, get yours now.

Tickets for most of
Dierks Bentley's Throttle Wide Open dates are available now at Ticketmaster--check Dierks' official website for details on non-Ticketmaster events. Seats for the Jackson, TN Dierks Bentley concert on April 3rd are available at the City of Jackson site.
Bucky and his excellent band will be making a must-see small-venue stop at the Buffalo Bar in St. Joseph, MO on Friday, March 21--get your ticket at Biggins Sports Bar & Grill (816 232-4450) or Buffalo Bar at (816) 390-8444.

On the tube and around the net: Camera policies at concerts--how are they established and when should they be reconsidered? There's an interesting discussion at the Erwin Record's Country's Chatter blog about that topic. Bucky's fans have been fortunate so far when it comes to capturing him on stage, and we sure hope that continues...

There's a good visual argument or two for relaxed camera policies at
The Covington Times right now--check out those nice shots of Bucky by the talented Danna and of Rocky and Bucky's duet courtesy of Buckyflowers. Midask9 has a very cool CRS photo and a Country Weekly celebration in progress at her It's Good to Be Us blog today.

Bucky's next "It's Good to Be Us" quiz question will be posted at his MySpace blog at 9 p.m tonight. The first MySpace poster who answers the question correctly in Bucky's MySpace comments wins an autographed picture and a grand prize entry, and one random winner of those same prizes will be chosen from all the posters who've answered the question correctly--but you've got to post your answer in the blog before Bucky's quiz-solving video appears. Good luck!

On the tube,
Bucky's 1/12 Opry performance gets another encore airing on GAC's Grand Ole Opry Live at 8:00 p.m. ET tonight. Pop some popcorn and enjoy the show...

Click here to vote for Bucky at GAC.comVote for Bucky: We started the post with a voting hint and we're ending it with a voting hint--lucky you! (Yes. there is a lot of mouse-clicking involved in being a Bucky Covington fan, but it's so worth it, y'all--check out this video for some rockin' proof.) Then give "It's Good to Be Us" some lovin' at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown and at CMT's Top 20 Countdown.

The ballot at the 2008 CMT Music Awards is open 24/7--register at CMT and vote for Bucky now, then pass along those links to everyone in the Northern Hemisphere...er, I mean "everyone you know"--no matter what hemisphere.

Have a tremendous Tuesday!
