By request, Bucky Covington on stage at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville, 11/17; photo by our talented friend Honeygirl, who shares more of the excitement from that night in her beautiful Flickr photoset. Thanks again, Honeygirl!
The fun continues at Bucky's MySpace blog tonight, where the "It's Good to Be Us" contest is going strong, and the chances to win are better than ever! There will be an additional random winner drawn each day from the pool of players who post the corrrect answer; post your reply before Bucky's video answer is posted, and you'll be in the running for an autographed picture and for the grand prize of concert tickets and a meet and greet with Bucky himself. The next question will be posted at 9 p.m. ET.--good luck and have fun!
The CMT Power Picks airtime change caused a bit of a commotion today, but never fear--tomorrow we'll have another chance to vote for Bucky, this time for his "A Different World" video. Tune in at 11 a.m. ET, and log on at the Power Picks main page to pop up that "Vote Now" screen. See you there in the morning...

Chart news: "It's Good to Be Us"started the day at #16 on the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts, but with #15 occupied by a falling hit, the listings could look very different this afternoon. Thanks to the very talented Janie for this fun photo from Lincoln, where she ran into Bucky Covington's gracious bandmates Ducky Medlock and Rocky Covington before their show at Uncle Ron's in December. Many thanks to Janie for sharing the great shot, and to Ducky and Rocky for the smiles! (Click the image to view full size.)On the tube and around the net: We're hoping for some new and fun YouTube video soon--but in the meantime, here are a few great Throttle Wide Open concert shots, courtesy of talented photographer Pinkpollyanna at Flickr. (Thanks for sharing those!)
The Covington Times spots a classic "Different World" photo and a blast from the past shot from the Rocky Rally, as well as some ACM reflections, a reminder about Bucky's rockin' video, and some sweet history. More fun facts about the Harris Brothers, Bucky's multi-talented managers, await you at Midask9's It's Good to Be Us blog, courtesy of the very kind Kerri.
Vote for Bucky: Finally, a quick look at those video voting links--show "It's Good to Be Us" some love at GAC Top 20 Country Countdown, at CMT's Top 20 Countdown and at CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack. (Today's morning ACM awards announcements might have been lacking in Bucky Covington content, but we'll keep up our spirits for Thursday, when the final nominees for the 2008 CMT Music Awards will be announced. Hang in there!)More later--have a lovely Tuesday afternoon!
Well, #15 did not fall this afternoon . Thus Bucky is still at #16. Sorry but I am losing faith in the Country Music Chart System. Things just seem a lttle odd to me.
ReplyDeleteWishful thinking on my part...I was hoping for a chart shift! Mea culpa. Overall, gazing at Mediabase really is like watching glaciers melt, isn't it? Sigh...
ReplyDeleteNo, I have seen glaciers calfing and that process is much faster than the Mediabase chart movement!!LOL.
ReplyDeleteCorrection: I have watched glaciers "calving" not "calfing". That what I get for trying to make a joke about Mediabase which is not a funny place.
ReplyDeleteLOL--no worries, and thanks for the giggle! Honestly, I think the only way we'll get through this chartwatching period is to keep a sense of humor close at hand... :)
