Maybe next year Bucky will get a nod for "Hometown"? I think that is a classic.

It's ok, (it's not really, but looking for the positive) Bucky was not nominated and yes, we are all upset, but perhaps he will be invivted to sing on the program, we can hope for that. If not, we the "Buckaneers" will just wait proudly until he does! I know that we all feel that he should of been on that list but think of all the other great new male singers that are not on it either. We just need to keep our head's up and focused, just look at all Bucky has done in just a short time with it not even a year yet since his first album release. Things happen for a reason and I believe that the best is yet to come!

Congrats to those listed!Someone's name is conspicuously absent from this list, IMO. I hope he releases HOMETOWN. It is my favorite.

I am surprised that JMC and Bucky are not on the list. Jack Ingram has been recording albums since 1997. I just do not understand "NEW" in this context. Congrats to the nominees

  6. Hello Kerri, Moon and Anons!

I know...it's a bummer, and I would have loved to see his name on the list this year! Sigh. "Hometown" has the potential to become a true radio perrenial, and I hope it is a single this year.

I'd be very surprised if Bucky's not on the list for 2009--but as y'all said, there are a lot of terrific newcomers (including the awesome Jason Michael Carroll) who are absent ths time around, so next year--wtahc out!

Thursday, we'lll have the announcement of the final-round nominees for the 2008 CMT Music Awards, and I hope the comments section for that news looks a whole lot happier! In the meantime, we can take heart--Bucky's given us a lot to be proud of, no matter what.
