It's a quiet morning for news--and it looks like we may have a few quiet mornings ahead until Dierks Bentley's Throttle Wide Open tour, featuring Bucky Covington and Luke Bryan as openers, starts up on Valentine's Day. (Our best to Dierks at the Grammys tonight!)
The upside of a slow news Sunday is that it gives us plenty of time to catch up on all the voting, surveys, polls and "It's Good to Be Us" requests that we might not have been able to squeeze in during a busy week. It's a safe bet that if Bucky Covington fan sites are a part of your daily cruise around the net, you've already voted for "A Different World" at the 2008 CMT Music Awards. (If not, feel free to register at CMT, vote for Bucky and all your favorites, and share those links with everyone you know! This is a case where "the more, the merrier" can't be emphasized enough...)
Country Weekly's "Country's Hottest Bachelor" survey continues today, and of course, "It's Good to Be Us" is lookin' for your affection at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown, CMT's Top 20 Countdown and CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack. Every mouse-click is a vote of confidence--and every vote of confidence is a step in that 30-year career journey Bucky's spoken of so often.
Here's a look at what else is happening today:
Chart news: "It's Good to Be Us" is #18 on the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts this morning, with a couple of bullets that could use a little plumping going into the new week--keep requesting, y'all! Weekend countdown airtime should help out quite a bit, but there's nothing like having your local DJ play "It's Good to Be Us" just for you--give him or her a call and see if that's doable...
Upcoming shows: Snag your seats for Dierks Bentley's Throttle Wide Open tour soon--tickets for most dates are available now at Ticketmaster. (Tickets for the Jackson, TN Dierks Bentley concert on April 3rd can be purchased at the City of Jackson site.) The Machine Shop in Flint, MI will welcome Bucky and his band for an intimate and rockin' evening of music on 2/2, and tickets for this 18-and-over, general admission show can be purchased at www.etix.com.

Thanks, Rachel!On the tube and around the net: The CMT Online Awards (and Bucky's funny acceptance speech for his "No. 1 Streamed Video by a New Artist" honor) is available at CMT.com today--you can catch it on TV Tuesday, too. GAC's airing "It's Good to Be Us" at 10:36 this evening.
And of course, the Grammy awards are happening tonight at 8 p.m. ET on CBS! CMT has a Country Music at the Grammys mini-site set up, with a look at country performers and nominees. There's also a CMT red-carpet photo gallery planned for this evening. No nominations for Bucky this time, but it'll be fun to contemplate next year's festivities--and as past experience has show, paying attention to the red-carpet can have its rewards...
Online, stop in at The Covington Times for two beautiful photos by BluIsDixieGurl and Happydays, and a good word of advice about fan-base communications. (Thanks for that very sweet shout out, too--we really appreciate the Times folks for the friendship, the good reading, the enjoyable links and photos and the fantastic support for the Covington brothers!)
Dixie posted an excellent idea at the CMT board for Bucky this morning--could there be any better Valentine's Day request than "It's Good to Be Us"? A happy and romantic song is always a radio winner this time of year, so call and dedicate it to someone you love (or someone you'd like to love...)
