Bucky Covington gets soulful at the Glass Cactus in Grapevine, Texas, 1/19; photo by the very kind AmaTex Mom. Click the image to visit her gallery at Bucky Fan Pics. Thanks again!Bucky Covington's stop at the Machine Shop in Flint must have been a rockin' time, if the photos at WKCQ's gallery are any indication. Congratulations to all who were able to see him last night in a rare but fun intimate venue setting--bet y'all had a blast!

More ticket news: tickets for the 2008 CMT Music Awards in Nashville on April 14th go on sale today at 10 a.m. CT at Ticketmaster. Bucky is a nominee this year (just in case you hadn't heard!) and from the sound of the blurb on the Ticketmaster page, those coveted mosh pit spots up front will be offered, too. How cool would it be to have some passionate Bucky Covington fans right up front cheering him on? If you can get there, be there!
Here's the rest of Saturday's happenings:
Chart news: Nope, it isn't just you--chartwatching is driving us all a little wild. "It's Good to Be Us" is #16 on both the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts this morning. There's opportunity to rise as the top of the chart shifts some, and the only way to take full advantage of all that is to keep requesting! (Can we hit and surpass that Top 15 milestone next? Yep...)Upcoming shows: Seats for most dates on Dierks Bentley's Throttle Wide Open tour are available now at Ticketmaster. (Be sure to check Dierks' official site for more info on non-Ticketmaster concerts.) Tickets for the Jackson, TN Dierks Bentley concert on April 3rd can be purchased at the City of Jackson site.
Bucky Covington at the KMLE Pre-Show Party at the Cricket Wireless Pavilion in Phoenix, October 2007; photo by the fabulous Sunscreen of the Bucky Truck Stop at Rawkhands, who was there to enjoy the fun. Click the image to see many more of her beautiful Phoenix shots. Thanks so much, Sunscreen! On the tube and around the net: On the tube, see Bucky on this week's edition of CMT Insider at 1 p.m. ET, with repeats on Sunday at 11:00 AM ET, Monday, 2/5 at 1:30 AM ET, and a final repeat Monday morning at 11:30 AM ET/PT. GAC will be airing the music video for "It's Good To Be Us" at 4:33 PM ET, and at 11:38 PM ET, enjoy "A Different World" on your TV screen.
Online, here's a funny and sweet "brush with fame" story by a gifted writer who saw Bucky at the Nashville airport. (Her daughter ran into him, too, as you'll read...)
The Covington Times is graced with a concert shot from the Auburn Hills show, a stunning Rocky Covington photo by the very kind AmaTexMom of Bucky Fan Pics fame, and lots of very helpful--and detailed--request information. Midask9's It's Good to Be Us is topped with sweet portrait of Rocky and Bucky taken on the set of the "It's Good to Be Us" video, along with soeme good advice about chartgazing.
And here's a somewhat off-topic (but fun!) note about the most recent post at the Erwin Record's Country's Chatter blog. The Bucky Covington connection is that Bucky played the pre-party for the KMLE-sponsored Alan Jackson/Brooks and Dunn show back in October --Sunscreen's great photos are here. But that's just my flimsy excuse to link you to some very rare photos of the legendary Mr. Jackson without his hat. (Lookin' pretty good!)

Vote for Bucky: First round voting for the 2008 CMT Music Awards ends on Monday, February 25th.--which means that this weekend is our last chance! Bucky's got to make it through to the final round to be officially in the running for that belt buckle trophy, and the blessing this can be to his career is immense. One vote per email address/registered user--so if you haven't already, register and vote today, then pass the link along to a few hundred or thousand friends!
Finally, show "It's Good to Be Us" some Top 16-and rising love at GAC Top 20 Country Countdown, at CMT's Top 20 Countdown and at CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack.More soon--have a sweet Saturday!
