Bucky Covington shares a wave and a bright smile at the 2007 CMT Music Awards in Nashville. (Photo by Matt Huesmann for CMT)We're all looking forward to Bucky Covington's big night at the CMT Music Awards on April 14th (encouraging everyone you know to register at CMT.com and vote for Bucky will make the night downright dazzling), but it can be a big night for you, too--buy a ticket and be there for the fun! CMT's announced part of the line-up of performers for the show, including chart-toppers Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and Toby Keith, "with other performances soon to be announced". (Fingers crossed on that last bit...)
Tickets to the award ceremony at the Curb Event Center at Belmont University in Nashville go on sale Saturday, February 23 at 10 a.m., CT and are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 615-255-9600, or online at CMT.com and ticketmaster.com. If you're in or near the area, join the party--and maybe you'll be able to watch Bucky get his belt-buckle in person!
Here's the rest of what's happening on this quiet Wednesday:
Chart news: "It's Good to Be Us" was the subject of the expected polevault by a country legend last night--it's now a strong #16 on both the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts today. The good news is that the bullets are holding up very nicely! Keep requesting, y'all--it matters. A chart race this close could mean that your vote or call could make a big difference...
Upcoming shows: Aside from yesterday's tip about the WKDF Birthday Bash in Nashville (pre-sale tickets will be available at Ticketmaster on Thursday--check WKDF and the Sommet Center for mailing list options and more info), there's not much news to report, so we'll repeat the week's reminders. Dierks Bentley's Throttle Wide Open tour are available now at Ticketmaster. The next date on this hot concert tour happens tomorrow night at the Palace at Auburn Hills near Detroit, and you could get very lucky in the "last-minute great seat" department here.)
Tickets for the Jackson, TN Dierks Bentley concert on April 3rd can be purchased at the City of Jackson site. And this week, Michiganders get a double dose of Bucky and his excellent band--after the Palace gig with Dierks, they'll headline at The Machine Shop in Flint on 2/22. Get your tickets for this general admission, 18-and-over concert at www.etix.com.

On the tube and around the net: The Covington Times offers good food for thought about our voting routines and a luminous screenshot from Bucky's very first music video; a fun teaser about what looks like a very creative group project awaits you at Midask9's gorgeous It's Good to Be Us blog; and check out Nikki's Simply a Bucky Fan for request information and more.
GAC offers you both of Bucky's beautiful music videos today--enjoy "It's Good to Be Us" at 4:12 p.m. ET, and "A Different World" at about 7:15 ET this evening.
Vote for Bucky: The 2008 CMT Music Awards --need I say more? Watching Bucky win that belt buckle in April would be a thrill beyond compare--and since these are the only major fan-voted awards, the thrill will be sweeter still. Register and vote right away--and tell a few hundred friends!Gone Country Magazine's "favorite country Idol" poll is still in progress too--seems to be a bit less wild now, but no less fun. Go have a look, and vote!
Last, but not at all least, show "It's Good to Be Us" some "Top 16 and rising lovin'" GAC Top 20 Country Countdown, at CMT's Top 20 Countdown and at CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack, where a return to the top would be fun to see. Today's the last day for 12-Pack, and the voting's unlimited--have your say there now...More later--have a wonderful Wednesday!
Sorry for the funny looking blog today--I think our Photobucket server may be down for the count. Hope the pphotos are back soon!

Thanks, Marzy! Fun news--will post it out front in a bit. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Winnie, where did you find the info for the awards show tickets? I didn't come up with anything at cmt.com or ticketmaster. I know they aren't on sale yet,but was hoping to find prices. Probably to rich for my blood, but was just curious.
ReplyDeleteHi, Leaf! The info came from CMT's latest press release about the awards, but they didn't give links--I checked on Tickemaster too and nothing was listed so far. (Although I did notice that a single seat at the ACMs in Las Vegas could be had in the nosebleed section...)
ReplyDeleteI'm curious too--hope they aren't too pricey. I hope you can make it there and gve us all a full report! If I find anything, I'll post it as soon as I can.
Thanks Winnie! Even if I can't make it inside,I may go down and check out the happenings on the red carpet. If I do,I'll be sure to share the details.
