Monday news: Sweet 17 again, "fair" weather, chartgazing and more...

Bucky Covington (with Ducky Medlock on bass) on stage at the Turning Stone Resort, 7/27; photo by our talented friend Janie, who had a great spot for the show! You can enjoy more of her fantastic concert shots here .

This week starts off with some good news at Mediabase--Bucky Covington's "It's Good to Be Us" moved up a spot to #17 on the weighted and Top 500 charts on Sunday evening. As always, those sweet red bullets could use a bit of plumping! With Valentine's Day dedications, along with the usual request opportunities on our local "Top X at X" and our favorite nationally syndicated country radio shows, there's lots of territory ripe for the taking--so be sure to call!

Otherwise--yep, it's pretty quiet! Here's a quick overview of the rest of the day's happenings:

Upcoming shows: Yesterday's fair and festival guide included a newly-added 8/15 show at the Franklin-Southampton Fair in Virginia with the (terrific) Lady Antebellum; today, a blogger for the Erwin Record mentioned Bucky as part of the entertainment for this year's Washington County Fair in Abington, VA. Bucky and his excellent band are likely to take the stage on Saturday night, 9/13. We'll keep you posted!

Here's another quick reminder about Dierks Bentley's Throttle Wide Open tour, which begins on Thursday, 2/14-- your seat for most of the shows awaits you at Ticketmaster. Tickets for the Jackson, TN Dierks Bentley concert on April 3rd are available at the City of Jackson box office. For more info on the Dierks Bentley tour, bookmark his website and stay tuned...

And of course, tickets for Bucky's own 2/22
Machine Shop concert in Flint, MI can be purchased at www.etix.com. This is one of the very few chances to enjoy Bucky and his band in an intimate setting this winter/spring--be there if you can!

Rocky Covington and Bucky Covington share a mic at the Indiana State Fair last summer; click here to see more beautiful concert photos by the talented Buckybaby01. (Thanks again, Buckybaby!)

On the tube and around the net: The Covington Times features some thoughtful musings on the Grammys and on the elements that kickstart a performer's rise to fame, along with a screencap from "A Different World" and a fantastic shot of Rocky Covington by Buckyroo. CMT's Grammy red carpet gallery is now online--no photos of Bucky there, but if you haven't had a chance to see Bucky with his "golden mouse" on the the CMT Online Awards show, check it out and be ready to smile.

Vote for Bucky: Nothing new here, and that's a blessing--between the very important 2008 CMT Music Awards (vote for Bucky in the "USA Weekend Breakthrough Video" category, and tell all your friends to join in), the Country Weekly "Country's Hottest Bachelor" survey, and the "consolation round" in the Idol Madness playoffs at Idol Thoughts, we've got our hands full!
Click here to vote for Bucky at GAC.comSo we'll just close for now with some daily video voting links--feel free to show "It's Good to Be Us" some love at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown, at CMT's Top 20 Countdown and CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack.

More very soon--have a magnificent Monday!
