There's some smile-inducing news on the Mediabase front this morning--Bucky Covington's "It's Good to Be Us" starts the day (and the year) on the rise, coming in at #24 with a bullet on the Mediabase weighted chart and holding its #26 spot on the Top 500. It's great to see bullets on the chart again, isn't it? Keep requesting "It's Good to Be Us" at your favorite local or streaming country station, and we'll get the year going in a positive direction...
Bucky's next concert is that Grand Ole Opry show (tickets available on-site) January 12th at the legendary Ryman, of course--that'll be his first Opry stop this year, but we're guessing it won't be his last! A perfect way to keep up with all the Opry happenings is to sign up for their official newsletter; Opry Update is full of links to news and enjoyable articles as well as a fast track to concert and tourist information. (And while we're talking newsletters, if you haven't signed up for Bucky's official mailing list, do it now--2008 should be full of fun surprises, and you'll want to catch it all!)
The poll at Bucky's MySpace blog is still in progress; "Now that Christmas is over, which song from the CD would you like to see replace 'Santa Claus is Coming To Town' on MySpace?", he wants to know, and you can tell him how you feel right here. While you're there, take a quick peek at the results--looks like "American Friday Night" and "Back When We Were Gods" are battling it out...

Stay tuned for a concert update, as well as a first look at the 2008 CMT Music Awards and how the voting will work next month. (Yep, I'm already dreaming of Bucky standing on that podium with a big smile and a belt-buckle award--bet you are, too!) For now, we can "cast our votes", in a manner of speaking, at Country Weekly. Scroll down to the "Tell Us What You Think" banner with the big blue checkmark, answer the full survey, pay close attention to question number four, and download the free digital version of that 2008 Chevy Country Music Calendar while you're there. September looks especially cool, but something tells us Bucky Covington's going to have an especially cool time all year long...
More very soon--have a wonderful first day of 2008!
