Saturday news: first word from York, a chart glance and more...(updated)

Bucky Covington sings out at Coyote Joe's in Charlotte, North Carolina on 11/23; photo by the very gracious Buckyroo. Thanks so much!

A little update for a quiet Saturday:

Chart news: Bucky Covington's "It's Good to Be Us" is nothing if not consistent! It's been a strong #20 on both the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts for a week now, and that bullet is showing some steady growth. Remember to dial up Lia, The Big Time with Whitney Allen, Danny Wright All Night, After Midnite and your favorite syndicated Saturday night show or local DJ this evening. That countdown and syndicated airtime should be a big help in the current tight chart race--and every request means a lot...

Upcoming shows: First, a few notes about a just-past show-- Aikenseeker was there for Friday night's concert in York, and she says it was rockin' pretty fiercely. "He really was on last night," she writes, adding that "he did the cricket and the growl." She also passed a long the good word about some video she's got coming up for us all! Look for "Every Rose Has Its Thorn", "Bible and the Belt" and "a new one I've never heard him do before" later on this week. Many thanks to Aikenseeker for sharing! (If you're curious about that new one, you're not alone at all...can't wait to hear what's been added to the set list.)

Bucky and his excellent band have two shows with megastar Trace Adkins coming up next--look for him at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, MA on 1/31 (tickets here), and on 2/1, he'll open for Trace in Johnstown, Pennsylvania ; tickets can be purchased at the War Memorial Arena box office (ticket request form available here, or charge by phone at 1-800-243-8499.)

On the tube and around the net: There's a bit of confusion about next month's TV fare--TVGuide.com has Bucky listed as part of what I assume is a Season 5 re-airing on the Fox Reality Channel, but as of a few minutes ago I couldn't find a listing for that on the channel's website. If you can (or if you have any more info) please feel free to share it in comments! In the meantime, we can relive the sweetness of that terrific season online at the Season 5 boards at AmericanIdol.com, where the photo thread has grown to epic (and beautiful) proportions. Pack a lunch, sit a spell and enjoy...

Click here to see Bucky Covington's video, It's Good to Be Us, on CMT LoadedVote for Bucky: "It's Good to Be Us" is always a joy to support--vote for Bucky's video at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown, CMT's Top 20 Countdown, and at CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack. The "Idol Madness" playoffs are still in progress at Idol Thoughts this weekend (vote here) and if you're one of the few fans who haven't had your say in the "help Bucky choose his next radio single" poll at his official site, there's no time like now.

Finally, our own "what changes would you like to see at Buckymania" poll was removed from the sidebar to make room for the admittedly oversized Dierks Bentley tour widget (hey, we want everyone to be there for Bucky's first big arena tour this year!) but I still would love to know what you'd like. Click here to go to Quibblo and speak your mind.

Updated to add a link to today's The Covington Times, where a truly cute graphic by Misfit of Misfit's World awaits, along with lots more fun. And at CMT's message boards, here's a short but sweet (and enthusiastic) review of last night's show by a young man who saw and heard Bucky live for the very first time. Sounds like it won't be his last...

More later--have a sweet Saturday, everyone!

Oh what a jubilant photo on top! :) Bucky does convey joy like no other entertainer I would say. And he sure brings the fun and enthusiasm always too! :D

Thank you Ms. Buckymania for your excellent blog! :)
