Bucky Covington in concert at Coyote Joe's in Charlotte, North Carolina on 11/23; photo by the very kind Buckyroo. Thanks again!A few weeks back, KIZN and Bucky Covington teamed up to benefit the station's Keep Kids Warm charity campaign, and the prize was an acoustic mini-concert by Bucky for the top fund-raising school in the Boise, Idaho area. This week, the winning school got their show--and Boise's Fox 12 news was there to cover the excitement at Vale High School. Click the little red camera icon at the top left to view a great 2-minute-plus "Idol Worship" news story on the event, complete with interview snippets with Bucky, a few sweet words from the happy students, a fun "story so far" overview of his blossoming career, and footage from the show itself. (Gotta love the dancing teachers...) Congrats to Vale!
Edited to add a link to the Argus Observer, where an excellent article about the Keep Kids Warm fundraising drive at Vale High School--and a concert shot of Steve Cook, Bucky and Ducky Medlock--have just been posted.
Bucky's fans can also celebrate a Power Picks victory today--"A Different World" won today's matchup against Taylor Swift's "Teardrops on My Guitar" with 60% of the vote. Way to go! More soon--Winnie
Bucky was again not on the CMT Top20 countdown. (That Colbie chic is movin on up, was #15)
ReplyDeleteHey, Anon--almost missed you here! :)
ReplyDeleteReally, at this point I've gotten pretty Zen-calm about CMT's Top 20--we are all doing the best we can and if it happens, it happens. I'd love to se it there too, and it may still come about...
But the song's doing well overall--it's fun to hear "It's Good to Be Us" much more on the radio now that it's Top 20, and the video's doing well on the other big national countdowns.
Sooooo...would be wonderful to see it there, and if it happens--bonus. This is just one of those times when we're doing our best but there are just other factors we're not privy to at play, here. But Bucky's got a hit on his hands, no matter what. :)
I have watched that Idaho (Vale, OR) video over and over and over. I think he looks sooooo cute in it..WOW, I wish I were still in high school and Bucky came to see me!!!! I know, I need to move on.. (sigh)
ReplyDeleteHi, Anon 4:31--was that fun or what? Awww. The kids (and some of the teachers, I bet) seemed so excited. We sure never got entertainment like that at my high school either! :)
