Oh my stars....those two shots of him from q98 are a riot....what an adorable hoot is the Bucky! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Buckymania!
My pleasure--that looks like it was a wild show. Gotta love Bucky and Sawyer Brown...they know how to entertain, that's for sure! :)
ReplyDeleteNOOOOOOO! Bucky in Thief River Falls on Aug 30, as close to me as he will be all year, and we will be out of state! Not a refundable trip! I just knew it would happen. Not that I have been deprived of seeing Bucky, I just had to vent. I hope he gets some new Minnesota Buckaneers!

Oh my, my, my! That CMT pic is smokin' HOT! Thanks for sharing THAT one! But what a bummer that we can't keep it! Never heard of pics blanking themselves out, even on its direct web address! Will just have to keep the link and admire... Going to cool down now....
ReplyDeletePst...Anon 10:51 you might want to check out the Truck Stop. :)

Moon--sorry I missed you last night! And oh, no--non-refundable tickets? I guess the bright side is that it looks like Bucky is in major demand this summer festival season--there's a very good chance your path and his will intertwine often as his schedule fills up. Fingers crossed, and always good to see you! :)
ReplyDeleteHey, everyone! Just wanted to give y'all a heads-up on an important bit of internet "Miss Manners" stuff--most everyone here already knows this, but for the benefit of those who are new, I wanted to pass this along...
ReplyDeleteIf you post a link to a gallery or a photo on another site, that's generally no problem--public galleries are there to be viewed and enjoyed. But when you send the photo itself--or use the photo so that it shows up on another site from the original site's file, it's considered "hotlinking" and can potentially be very costly to the original site.
Sites like the radio station who just took Bucky's photos down pay for bandwidth (think of it as something like power from a battery), and while a visit to the site costs them a little, the extra bandwidth it takes to unwillingly display the pictures in hindreds of emails, on popular boards, etc. can cost them a LOT.
Not to mention that it's very bad PR for us, as Bucky's fans, to even innocently cause a problem with radio stations!
So...if you see a photo on another site, and you like it a lot, linking to the gallery is the safest bet. The people we're sharing it with will still see and enjoy it. (And yes, I'll be following my own advice--if you see me breaking it, please feel free to give me a good "tsk tsk" in comments or by email.)

Hotlinking and bandwidth theft: what is it?
Thnaks for taking the time to read this, everyone!

Oh my--I feel like the "never mind" lady from the original SNL. A friend just told me that the radio station site was in the process of clearing out older galleries to make room for a "best of year" album. So stay tuned for that one, and in the meantime...um, hotlinking is still not good, y'all! Avoid doing it if possible.
ReplyDeleteI'll just slink on away to my appointment now... :)

Is there anyone who saved copies of those Q98.6 fun shots? I would love to have them please...pretty please with sugar on top.
ReplyDeleteAnd a cherry! :)
