Bucky Covington on stage at the Blind Horse Saloon in Greenville, 11/24; photo by the very kind Happydays, who shares more great concert shots in her Photobucket gallery. Thanks so much, Happydays! Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music videos for "It's Good to Be Us" and "A Different World" are available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his singles at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. A copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered at his official site or via his official fan club. The final Ticket Blast for the WIL Jinglefest at the St. Charles Family Arena happens today at 12 noon to 1 p.m. local time at the Shop n' Save at 1721 Homer Adams Pkwy in Alton, IL. The first 100 people in line will receive tickets for tomorrow night's big show, which stars Bucky Covington, Eric Church and headliner Taylor Swift. Good luck and congratulations to all the lucky winners! (If you weren't among the Ticket Blast winners and you'd still like to go, the Family Arena has details about a suite option that'll help you turn the evening into a party for you and 11 of your closest friends...)
Bucky will take the stage tonight in Lincoln, Nebraska for what promises to be a fantastic show at Uncle Ron's; this marks his first time performing in the city, and it's sure to be a night to remember! If you've got flexible plans (lucky you!) tickets will be $15 at the door, and while this show was listed in that Raisin' the Bar press release back in October, it looks as though this is not a date on that tour; local favorites the Jim Rice Band are listed as the opening act at the venue's website. (Our apologies for the confusion! Bucky will definitely be there tonight...)
The Raisin' the Bar tour will resume on November 30th for a show at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City; here are your last few chances to see rising country stars Bucky Covington, Jason Michael Carroll and Cole Deggs & the Lonesome in one exciting night:
November 30 Beaumont Club Kansas City, MO [TM]
December 1 Billy Bob’s Texas Fort Worth, TX [TM]
December 5 Northern Lights Clifton Park, NY [tickets]
December 6 Pepsi-Cola Roadhouse Burgettstown, PA [TM]
December 7 Crocodile Rock Café Allentown, PA [TM]
December 8 Rams Head Live! Baltimore, MD [tickets]
During their joint Halloween appearance on GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown, Bucky and Jason did mention, in passing, the possibility of some additional shows together in '08. Nothing along the lines of a Raisin' the Bar carryover has been confirmed yet--but an anonymous commenter posted a good question about Bucky's plans this coming year. Another kind anon filled in some blanks--thanks so much! Here's what's fairly solid so far. (Remember that "solid" in the concert business means "all dates subject to change", of course...)
January 11 and 12th, 2008: Sound and Speed, Nashville [tickets ]
January 31: Opening for Trace Adkins, Lowell, Mass. [on sale 12/14]
February 1: Opening for Trace Adkins, Johnstown PA
May 3-4, 2008: Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California [tickets]
May 28-31, 2008: Winfield Country Roundup, Winfield, Kansas [tickets]
June 5-8, 2008: CMA Fest, Nashville, Tennessee [tickets]
June 27th 2008: Countryfest 2008 , Cadott, Wisconsin [tickets]
CMT.com is listing an show at the Cancun Cantina in Hanover, MD on August 24th, but it looks as though that may be in error--that's the same date he played there this past summer. (Can't blame the concertgoers or the venue for wanting a repeat, though--that was a hot one!)
Also hot is Bucky's new single, "It's Good to Be Us", which is poised to make another jump on the charts--it's still #29 on both the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 rankings, with two pleasingly plump bullets that we can make even plumper still. Keep requesting "It's Good to Be Us" at your favorite local or streaming country station, and give him some applause on those local "Top X at X" countdowns and nationally syndicated country radio shows. Bucky's fun "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" is looking like an emerging holiday hit in Des Moines, with 14 spins in the last few days--if your country station's into holiday mode, ask for Bucky's Christmas treat, as well!
Bucky's video is on the rise, too--we'd love to see it tomorrow morning on the CMT Top 20 Countdown. Watch the video at CMT, then give him some love at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown, CMT's Top 20 Countdown, at the GAC Top 50 Videos of the Year poll and at CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack. (That GAC Top 50 sweepstakes is still going strong, by the way--click that graphic to vote and find out more...)We'll close with a couple of "giving back" links: Ogopogo mentioned that one of Operation Home's biggest needs right now is "Venus" items for the servicewomen stationed overseas; razors, shampoo and other grooming items are needed, and "good coffee" was another request. Keep an eye out for Pogo's posts at the Bucky Covington fan thread on AI.com, and bookmark the drive's MySpace for all the info you'll need. The Every Body Is Beautiful auctions are still in progress, and the bidding is brisk. This benefit for the National Eating Disorders Association includes two items donated by Bucky Covington; a cool gift package (autographed T-shirt, CD and poster) and a signed Hohner acoustic guitar. Happy bidding!
Last but definitely not least, if you haven't seen Happydays' great Greenville concert shots, there's no time like the present. Thanks for sharing the fun!
Edited to add a reminder from our good friend Becky--got a Bucky Covington CD? Then you've also got a coupon code in your CD booklet for a generous 25% off a membership to his official Fan Club. However, time's running out to use this one--it expires on 12/31/07. If you have a buddy who'd like to enjoy all the Meet & Greet and contest fun by your side, this is a perfect way to save on a smash-hit present for a brand new fan. Thanks, Becky!
More very soon--have a wonderful Wednesday!
