Monday news: Billy Bob's ticket alert, the joy of giving back and more (updated)

Bucky Covington smiles out at the crowd in this great shot from his show at Waverly Beach in Menasha, Wisconsin; photo by the very kind Midask9, who shares more of her images from the show here. Thanks so much--looks like it was a wild and wonderful night! Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video for "A Different World" is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. A copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered at his official site or via his official fan club.

Edited to add a note from the gracious Ogopogo about one of those "live from Nashville" CMA Awards remotes, in progress: "The radio station I have tuned in says they are live in Nashville and will be interviewing Bucky, JMC, and Trent. (The Wolf/Seattle 100.7)" You might be able to catch the stream this morning (it's currently about 9: 40 ET)--good luck!

Monday's news begins with the very last Raisin' the Bar ticket alert for now: tickets for the December 1st show at Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth, TX will be available at 10 a.m. CT today at Ticketmaster. This is an all-ages event, but there are some restrictions on entry by minors; see Ticketmaster for details. Tickets are $10 and $15. Enjoy Bucky Covington, Jason Michael Carroll and Cole Deggs & the Lonesome at the famous (and enormous) Billy Bob's Texas this winter.

For those who'd like to know what a Raisin' the Bar show looks like, here's a gorgeous set of photos--Midask9 was there for the Waverly Beach show in Menasha on Saturday, and her excellent shots of Bucky, Rocky, Don Medlock and Jason Michael Carroll are a must-see. Thanks so much for sharing these, Midask9!

And here are the rest of the remaining dates for your once-in-a-lifetime chance to enjoy Bucky Covington, Jason Michael Carroll and Cole Deggs & the Lonesome on the same awesome bill--better snag your seats fast. Bucky Covington and Don Medlock rock the house in another great shot from Waverly Beach by the very talented Midask9--click here to see more.

The Raisin' the Bar tour is the main event this fall and winter--but Bucky, Rocky, Don, Shaun and Hans will be doing a few select off-tour apperances and performances in various combinations this month, as well. On 11/13, Bucky's part of the Kicks 99 Guitar Pull in Augusta, GA with Dierks Bentley, Jo Dee Messina, Blake Shelton, Van Zant and Eric Church; tickets to this one are completely sold out, but WKXC is graciously giving some away. Check out the station's site, then tune in for your chance to win! This show benefits the United Way "Million Pennies for Kids" account. On 11/14, Bucky's got another Guitar Pull on his schedule, this time in Savannah; the Kix 96 Guitar Pull at Savannah's historic Lucas Theatre features Bucky, Jason Michael Carroll, and Jeff Bates, and the proceeds benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Tickets are $25; you can buy them by phone at 912-525-5050, online at the Trustees Theatre Box Office or in person at the Savannah College of Art and Design Box Office.

And the WQDR event on the 15th sounds like a sweet day for an excellent cause:

94.7 QDR Today's Best Country invites you to check out the behind the scenes action at the North Carolina Children's Hospital November 15th as the Q Crew broadcasts live all day. Please plan on making a donation on the phone that Thursday at 1-866-NCKIDS or stop by the hospital for performances and autographs from Keith Anderson, Van Zant, Lee Brice, Jason Michael Carroll and Bucky Covington! The shows are free and the work the hospital does is life saving for our kids in NC. THe QDR Children's Promise Broadcast, Thursday November 15th...Be a part of the miracle this year and thank you from the Q Crew!

This one's later in the month, but we'll slip a reminder about that WCNC-sponsored charity auction in right here as well--the high bidder wins 2 tickets to the Raisin' the Bar show on 11/23 in Charlotte, backstage passes, a $150 gift certificate to Ruth's Chris Steak House, and a limo ride to get there in style; the proceeds go to
Levine Children's Hospital.

Many thanks to Bucky and his fellow country stars and to country radio for taking the time to give back to their communities--it's a pleasure to support artists and stations with such big beautiful hearts!

It's also a pleasure to support "It's Good to Be Us" on the radio--Bucky's latest single is still doing a long, slow flirtation with that Top 30 spot. It's currently #32
on the Mediabase weighted charts and #31 on the Top 500...so close! Keep requesting "It's Good to Be Us" at your favorite local or streaming country station, get ready for another week of local "Top X at X' countdowns, do a little flirting of your own with your favorite syndicated country show host tonight (ahem), and show Bucky's pulse-quickening new video some love at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown and at CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack, too.

Finally, I'm going to follow Kathy's wise lead at Team Covington this morning and direct you to the spacious and gorgeous HappyBirthdayCovingtons MySpace, where Lisa/Judge is gathering wonderful birthday greetings for Bucky and Rocky for the second year in a row. Add the Birthday MySpace as a friend, enjoy the stunning graphics, and leave a birthday greeting of your own! (Bucky and Rocky turn thirty on Thursday morning, but there's no time like the present to start up the party...)

And if you missed the big news about the fan club tailgate party at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville on the 17th, wonder no more--Bucky's official MySpace blog has all the details. Follow the instructions there, and get ready to party before Bucky's big Nashville concert that night. Note that there's now a free street team option on the official fan club site--excellent news. (Add Bucky Covington as a MySpace friend, subscribe to his blog, and you'll always be in the know. It's the best way to keep up with his incredibly busy--and-exciting--life as an up and coming country star.) Hope to see you there...

More very soon--have a beautiful Monday!

  5. Hi, Kathy, Pizzi and Anons! Kathy, I agree--she really caught some great shots, and I loved that smiling image! (And I'm alspo with you on the long sleeved shirts, Anon--very stylish.)

Pizzi, it is good to see you! Can't wait to hear all about your Raleigh show--that's going to be a good one. I'd bet there's nothing like seeing those Carolina boys in Carolina. Can't wait to hear about your fun evening!

And Anon 2:23, I hope someonme who's been to the shows can answer for sure, but I am guessing the answer is no, since onbody's mentioned an Raisin' the Bar specific merch by now. (And if so, they missed out on a nice merch opportunity!) A lot of us would have loved a souvenir of this tour.

They do have a shirt for the tour that is sold at Jason's table. It's a black shirt on the front has the bottle and the RTB symbol that is on BCO when you first go to the sight. On the back is tour name, their names and then the picture that is to the left of the schedule on BCO. Hope this helps.

  7. On behalf of all of us who haven't been to a show yet, thank you very much, Anon 4:00! The shirt sounds very collectible. I hope 2:33 stops in and sees your post--and I apologize for all the typos in mine. :) Thanks!
