Bucky Covington enjoys a soulful moment during his October 5th Fresno Fair show in this great concert shot by the very kind Minnie. You can enjoy more of her beautiful Fresno photos here. Thanks so much, Minnie! Our friend AmaTexMom was at the Raisin' the Bar stop in San Antonio last night; she says that the evening was late and lively. Bucky, Rocky, Don, Shaun and Hans closed the show--Bucky and Jason are alternating nights as the final act--and they took the stage at about midnight. "Bucky and the guys were great...they were having lots of fun up there. Jason Michael Carroll is really cute and sings great, too. I'm so glad we could use our camera. I know you will love the pictures." Looking forward to seeing those shots--stay tuned!
Another concertgoer posted about the chilly-but-energetic Corpus Christi show at TWoP (scroll down); she noted that the folks who stayed away due to the cold missed a terrific show:
Bucky sang 6-7 songs from his CD, including all my favorites: "Bible and the Belt", "I'm Good", and "Empty Handed", along of course with "A Different World", plus "American Friday Night". He must have sung "Good to Be Us" but for some reason I don't remember that clearly. He also did some fun covers, my favorite being that 80s guilty, cheesy pleasure "Every Rose Has A Thorn." He was joined by Jason Michael Carroll for "Drift Away", which was nice.
I haven't seen him on TV in a long time and had mostly forgotten how adorable his personality is, but he surely is a charmer.
And in other...well, kinda "Texas" news, Beesims posted a hoot of a link at the Bucky Truck Stop at Rawkhands yesterday. "Bucky has finally reached the level of fame where other artists are goofing on him. Members of the band Little Texas filmed this video of someone posing as Bucky at a real live....truck stop." (Little Texas and Bucky Covington have been on the same bill more than once this summer, if memory serves--it's a safe guess that that affectionate ribbing works both ways...) Thanks to ogopogo for the heads-up.
Finally, it's evening here in the Eastern United States--which means it's time for those nationwide Saturday night syndicated country radio shows. If you'd like Bucky's single to be a part of your Saturday night drive, be sure to request "It's Good to be Us" before you head out the door. Chances are excellent that either Lia, The Big Time with Whitney Allen or the Bo Reynolds Show are playing on your local country station now, or will be very soon--their sites all have handy contact information, and their shows reach the whole country. Let them know you're listening!
