Coffee break news: fun at Team Covington, news from People Magazine and a video player to share (updated)

Bucky Covington hits a heartfelt note during an appearance with Sawyer Brown at the DeKalb Cornfest this summer; photo courtesy of the very kind Cindy, who enjoyed the show up close. Thanks, Cindy!

Kathy at Team Covington has a great link and a fantastic image for you--head over there now to see a still from the brand new Bucky Covington Hyfntrak video player and to follow her link to a brand new article at WKBO. The player features Bucky's new music video for "It's Good to Be Us", along with a scrolling "Bucky Bullets" fun facts section at the bottom of the screen. Among the "bullets"--Bucky will be part of this year's People Magazine Country Music special edition, which should be hitting the shelves very soon. Update: look for it on the newsstands November 9th. (Remember that blog post we linked a while back in which the writer spotted People photographing Bucky, Kellie Pickler and Bo Bice in Nashville? Should be a gorgeous as well as an informative issue...)

If you'd like to share Bucky's video player with your friends via email (and please do!) here's the direct link to cut and paste, courtesy of the very kind Sunscreen of the Bucky Truck Stop:

And after they've seen Bucky's exciting video, they might want to ask for the song on the radio, too. (How's that for an awkward segue?) "It's Good to Be Us" moved up a spot overnight and now graces the #32 position on both the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts. It was also the #1 song on last night's WKML "Top 5 at 6", too! (Thanks, Debra.) We are flirting with that Top 30 spot...so very close, y'all. Can we get even closer? Keep requesting!

Updated with a little more news about that Chevy Country Music Calendar, via GAC: "
Approximately three million calendars will be distributed through inserts in upcoming issues of People, Country Weekly, CMA Close Up, NASCAR Illustrated and Progressive Farmer. Fans may also download a PDF file of the calendar and view original behind-the-scenes footage of each calendar artist at chevynation.com/country. " So if you weren't able to find one when they first hit the shelves, never fear--looks like you'll have a quite a few more chances. Here's hoping Bucky will be gracing your office wall in September '08! More soon--Winnie

  4. Kathy, I totally agree--that is a beautiful combination. Can't wait to see that People special issue! I bought last year's, and it was really well done.

Thanks for the stats, Marzy and Anon! "A Different World" is really going to be a perennial at radio...we'll be hearing Bucky's first hit for years and years. And I am with you in the hopes for that spin increase on hit #2, and for that nice upward bounce on the sales front.
