Friday news: Texas Club photos, first word from Concrete Street, GAC's Top 20 and more...

By request, Bucky Covington rocks it onstage at the Cancun Cantina in Hanover , 8/24/07; photo by the very kind Aikenseeker. Thanks so much for sharing this one! Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music videos are available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full versions of his singles at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. A copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered through his official site or via his official fan club.

Friday's news begins with some fresh Bucky Covington concert photos from Baton Rouge. WYNK just posted a 510 (!) page gallery from Wednesday night's show at the Texas Club, and you'll find it here; there are quite a few meet and greet and audience shots before the concert photos begin in earnest at #50 or so. Even with so many, it was easy to pick out a few favorites--gotta love this shot of Don Medlock, Bucky and Shaun Bayles showing off their guitar moves, a bit of Rocky Covington and Bucky Covington sharing the stage, and Bucky looking contemplative in the spotlight. Take a little time, grab a cup of coffee, and happy browsing...

And the very kind AmaTexMom sends us word from the very first Raisin' the Bar show in what turned out to be an unexpectedly chilly outdoor venue, which kept some of the crowd away. "They were wonderful as usual!" she writes, adding that Concrete Street had a no-camera policy, but the local country station, KYRS, might have some photos posted later on. (There's a funny older podcast there from back during the album release promo at KYRS.com right now--a blast from the past is a great way to start the day, too.) Thanks so much, AmaTexMom!

On the charts, "It's Good to Be Us" was the victim of a superstar pole vault overnight; it's #37 on the Mediabase weighted chart and holds on to its #34 spot on the Top 500. With the excitement from the video's TV debut and the media blitz accompaying the Raisin' the Bar tour, it's a safe bet that Bucky's excellent single is gaining traction by the hour. Request "It's Good to Be Us" at your favorite local or streaming country station, vote and tune in to your local "Top X at X", and remember tonight's syndicated shows, too.

Click the image to hear songs from Bucky Covington. Enjoy!Speaking of syndicated shows, Lia was a hoot last night--Bucky and Jason Michael Carroll are quite a team indeed! Judgefl gave us a kind heads-up about the interview snippet that Lia's posted on her MySpace; hop over to www.myspace.com/radiolia and prepare to grin. If you'd like more of that doubled pleasure, catch GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown tonight; Bucky and Jason are the guests, and the show should be pretty lively...hope GAC is ready! (And remember, the video for "It's Good to Be Us" is now eligible for write-in votes on GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown ballot. Just sayin'...)

If you're deep in the heart of San Antonio, of course, you'll also have the option of enjoying Bucky, Jason and Cole absolutely live tonight. Here are the details on this evening's show:

We'll close with a few links for our newest readers (hi there!) who might have missed out on all the excitement this week: Bucky's brand new video for "It's Good to be Us" can be viewed on demand at CMT.com, and if you'd like a glimpse behind the scenes, check out "The Making Of 'It's Good to be Us'" at Bucky's official MySpace or on YouTube. And finally, if you'd like to congratulate Bucky and director Trey Fanjoy on a job beautifully done, add Bucky as a MySpace friend and leave a comment on his blog.
