Quick Sunday news: HOB tonight, concert memories, chart gazing and more...

Bucky Covington sings it out (top) and trades vocals with Don Medlock (scroll down) in these terrific shots from this weekend's Anderson, SC show taken by the very kind Happydays; click here to enjoy her Photobucket gallery. (Thanks again, Happydays!)
Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

It's a quiet Sunday morning, but we're betting things will be gratifyingly loud and rowdy at the Myrtle Beach House of Blues tonight; Bucky, Don, Rocky, Hans and Shaun and are set to rock the place during this highly anticipated show. Here are the details--hope you can be there for the fun!

After this rave-up, Bucky and company get a well-deserved break before heading out again next weekend for a three-day stretch that'll take them from Kentucky to California. (Whew!) You can follow along with Bucky's cross-country adventures via this handy and fun animated Gruvr map, on the tour page at his official site (which includes meet and greet details), and on our own Concert Roundup section, featuring links and ticket info. He's a must-see live!

He's also a must-hear on the radio, and it sounds as though more and more radio listeners are getting a chance to enjoy Bucky's next tune, "It's Good to Be Us", a little ahead of schedule. The official release date is September 10th, but it's already begun its chart climb--it moved up again last night to take the #63 spot on both the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts. (Just a reminder that the BuckyCovingtonFans MySpace blog has a great list of stations who've already played the song--hope your local country station is among them. If so, give them a bit of positive feedback!)

We'll wind down the morning with a few more concert memories-- enjoy a short but very sweet MySpace blog post from a concertgoer and new Bucky Covington fan who loved the Anderson show (a lot!), head to CMT for a beautifully detailed recap by a kind longtime fan who was at the same concert; stop in at YouTube for a brief, very cool clip of Bucky and Rocky Covington sharing the spotlight, courtesy of my4frogs; and check out this great group of photos from Bucky's recent Barnstable Fair show, courtesy of Kelly. Thanks to all for capturing the excitement!

More very soon--have a beautiful Sunday!

I do not know what rank ADW was 8 days before release, but according to my saved emails to my local radio dj to whom I requested the day after it dropped Jan. 18, ADW had just broken into the Top 60.BF

PS: Exactly 6 months to the date after ADW broke into the Top 60, it broke into the TOP 10 on July 18. This is according to my OBCD records. BF

  4. Good afternoon and thanks, Anon and Buckyflowers! I have a feeling that "It's Good to Be Us" will be added a bit more readily than "A Different World" was--Bucky's coming off a very solid hit, and that "wait and see" hesitancy might be lessened out there in radio-land. (At least I hope so...) OBCD records are great, by the way--thanks for the time frame! ;)

I actually kept track of this. 8 days before its release, ADW was at #69 with 68 spins. This was on the top 500 chart. So...GTBU is ahead of where ADW was, as it is already at #61 last time I checked.

Just wanted to add that ADW was released to radio on Jan. 16th, not the 18th.

  7. Thanks again, and I'm so sorry I missed your comment yesterday! Your info is interesting, because it indicates that radio must really have seen "A Different World" as a very solid hit--the fact that "It's Good to Be Us" is being added to playlists at a faster pace is a sign of confidence in Bucky's radio audience appeal on the whole, I would imgaine. Very cool and thanks!
