First look at Tuesday: Edenton update, questions for Rocky and more...(updated with Top 40 news)

Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and the music video for his hit debut single "A Different World'" is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. A copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered at his official site or via his official fan club.

Here's a bit more about Bucky's upcoming Edenton show on Friday, via the Albemarle Daily Advance:

American Legion Post 40 presents Bucky Covington in concert, Friday at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Fairgrounds, U.S. Hwy. 17 Bus. South, Edenton. Also appearing is Avalanche. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. No coolers, bring lawn chairs. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the gate. 482-2297.

And if you're looking for more news about the tour--or about anything at all--straight from Rocky Covington himself, now's your chance. Leave a question in the brand new guestbook via the contact page at RockyCovington.com, and your question might be among those answered on the site. You'll recall that Rocky did a similar question-and-answer feature a while back--the replies were a great glimpse into his musical influences, and the next set of answers should be just as intriguing. Have fun! (Thanks to the kind folks at the RockyCovington.com newsletter for the heads-up.)

Bucky's Monday evening appearance on GAC Nights was a hoot, by all accounts! If you missed the segment about his turn as a model for Chevrolet and Country Weekly, take heart--you'll be able to enjoy him on the glossy, full-size calendar for a full month. The Chevy Country Music Calendar will be included in an upcoming issue of Country Weekly--watch the newsstand, and get ready to rock your office wall, country-style...

Finally, we're still getting ready for that Top 40 confetti throw--is today the day "It's Good to Be Us" rings that bell? We're posting way too early to know, but the
the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts might have been updated for Tuesday morning by the time you read this. Hope there's some sweet news to go with your first cup of coffee...

Edited with the morning results, and as our kind commenter mentioned, happy-mixed feelings are understandable: Bucky's new song is currently #40 on the Top 500 (hooray!) and #42 on the weighted chart. The beautiful red bullet and the hot momentum remain on both charts--it simply looks like the songs on the weighted list were affected by a mid-chart polevault. Request "It's Good to Be Us" at your favorite local or streaming country station, be sure to vote on your local "Top X at X" and on WKML's "Top 5 at 6" by sending a request for Bucky's latest to country@wkml.com (online listeners welcome) and hang on to half that confetti--we'll be releasing the weighted-chart portion anytime now!

We'll be back with more later today--see you very soon!

  2. Thanks--kind of an odd chart result! But with any luck, we'll have a matched Top 40 set by this time tomorrow (or even later today.) Guess we could throw half the confetti? :)
