Saturday news: Top Five happy dancin', concert photos and more...

Bucky Covington and Shaun Bayles (at left) shine in the spotlight on stage at the Turning Stone Resort, 7/27; photos by the very kind Janie. You can enjoy more of her beautiful concert shots here. Thanks again, Janie! Bucky's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

The Top Five happy dance continues--Bucky's hit single "A Different World" is now #5 on the Mediabase weighted chart and #7 on the Top 500 this morning, with two decidedly healthy bullets. Way to go, Bucky! (On the Top 500 chart, it's virtually tied with the song in the #6 spot; this is definitely one of those times when a few added requests could make a big difference--so please, keep requesting "A Different World" at your favorite local and streaming country stations.)

And tonight, Lia, The Big Time with Whitney Allen, Danny Wright All Night the Bo Reynolds Show and the late Saturday/early Sunday edition of After Midnite are great places for a well timed, heartfelt request, too. How high can "A Different World" go? At this point, we'll just say "the sky's the limit" and smile. There's no doubt that this is the start of a string of many, many hits for Bucky--but as we've mentioned before, an artist only gets one very first single. Bucky Covington's debut hit is a dream come true, y'all.

If your dream is to see Bucky, Rocky, Don, Shaun and Hans live this weekend, Oregon is the place to be! The Oregon Jamboree show is tonight; Bucky is performing at Sankey Park in the timeslot originally scheduled for Billy Currington, who had to cancel his summer tour due to laryngitis. (We're wishing Billy all the best of health.)
For more information on tonight's show, call (541) 367-8800 or (888) 613-6812, or head over to the festival’s website at www.oregonjamboree.com.

And if you're looking for concert photos, the very kind Buckyroo and jackie blue have some great ones for you--they were both present for the WSOC Redneck Yacht Club listener criuse in Charlotte, and they've both graciously shared their galleries at Photobucket. Click here to enjoy Buckyroo's album, and head this way for Jackie's shots. Be sure to stop in at Team Covington, too--Kathy has a link to some lovely Turning Stone concert photos by Trish that you're sure to love. Huge thanks to all of Bucky's kindhearted camera-toting fans and friends for sharing the fun!

Finally, speaking of fans and friends, here's some good news for Bo Bice's and Bucky Covington's many mutual fans--the brand new Fans and Friends board is up and running! Vix's beautiful board will get very busy soon as Bo's much-anticipated new music continues to cause a buzz, and as Bucky's chart climbing success makes the headlines. Register now, and get ready for a great season of music and conversation with fans and friends of these two talented Southern gentlemen...

More very soon--have a great Saturday!

Hey, Winnie! Denny was right about your blog. WOW. Sure you are not really from Nashville? :-) It was a pleasure meeting you. I will have to pick up this "Bucky" dude's CD. You like his singing this much so there must be something to it. I owe you a Frappucino, beautiful lady. Have a good day.

So what did you think of the Minneapolis Star Tribune piece on WE Fest today? I don't think their writer likes Bucky.

  3. D.J, howdy and welcome! Glad you like the blog (and did you get your t-shirt yet? :) I'd highly recommend picking up Bucky's CD ASAP, but you probably guessed that by now...

And thanks for that Frappuccino offer. Might take you up on that, sir. :D

Hi, anon...hmm. Mr. Bream was never a big fan--actually, he was kind of a big non-fan--of Bucky's during Idol, nor during the Idol tour. (To be fair, though, he did have some fairly positive things to say about Bucky's album!) However...

I'm trying to imagine a world in which a guy could be on the #1 rated TV show in the country for weeks, have a #1 debut album on the country charts, have the current #5 single on the country charts, and be backstage at a country music festival, "strolling around unrecognized" by the very people he's sharing those charts with. I mean, I wasn't there and Mr. Bream was, so I have to take his word for it, but something about that scenario does not compute. Just sayin'.

So...no link. But having said all that, I'm not putting Mr. Bream down at all--Bucky's my favorite new country singer, but Mr. Bream's got a right to his opinion.

Not everyone's gotta like Bucky's music--just enough of us to get him into the Top Ten...make that Top Five...make that... :)

I'm sending Mr. Bream some Q-tips to clean out his ears. I am thinking he is probably short fat bald guy who is jealous of Bucky's long silky blonde locks and nice lean body!

Oh my goodness peeps...Bucky has about 387 million good things happening with his career that it seems silly to me for us fans not to focus on any one or more of those things and forget the rest. So Anom 4:49...this is the only part of your post I endorse: "Bucky's long silky blonde locks and nice lean body!"...now that is something to focus on...yes indeedy! :D Or that "A Different World" is top 5....or that he is funny on radio interviews....or ______ ...

  6. There is a heck of a lot of positive to accentuate, that's for sure... :)
