Friday news: Number five and counting, photo galleries and more...

Two great shots, by request-- Bucky Covington faces a windy sound check and (scroll down) strolls up to the microphone with Rocky Covington during Wednesday's Indiana State Fair show; click here to enjoy a gorgeous Flickr photoset of concert photos by the very generous Buckybaby01. (Thanks again, Buckybaby!)
Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

It's always great to start Friday with some excellent news--hop on over to the Mediabase weighted chart, where "A Different World" is once again in the Top Five this morning. Gotta love that!

Can we talk about staying power, y'all? Bucky's debut hit is bulletless on the weighted chart (and at the Top 500 chart, where it graces the #7 spot), but it is also, if memory serves, the oldest single release in the current Mediabase Top Five. (The second oldest would be Rodney Atkins' hit, which was released to radio as a single in February.) "A Different World" has been in the Top Ten since mid-July. That song has long, long legs to die for, my friends.

Can we seal the deal with an official Billboard Top Five milestone before Bucky's second hit single hits your local country station's playlists? It's entirely doable. Keep requesting "A Different World" at your favorite local and streaming country stations, vote for it in your local "Top X at X" countdowns, dial up your favorite syndicated country radio shows tonight, and give Bucky's video some affection at GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown and CMT's Top Twenty Countdown. But even more than that--be proud. Bucky's sturdy, solid, long-lasting, undeniably big debut single has definitely caught the attention of radio listeners and radio professionals. A great song, a beautiful performance, and a perfect way to start off those twenty-something years and counting--I'll be shamelessly corny and say that it sure is good to be us right about now.

And one of the sweetest things about sweet success is the opportunity it provides for giving back. If you're at all a softie, keep your Kleenex handy for this blog post from a fan who asked Bucky to donate an autographed item for the Delivering Dreams charity--and got much, much more than she expected...

Click to visit RockyCovington.comBucky, Rocky, Hans, Don and Shaun bounce back from a break to play one of the most unusual (and fun) gigs on the current tour! Here's a repeat of the information about this evening's Milwaukee Zoo event:

And we'll wrap things up for now with two "official" photo galleries from past shows. The Belpre Homecoming site has just posted their album from that successful event; scroll down to see Bucky posing with local pageant queens and performing for the record-breaking crowd, as well as a great smiling portrait of Bucky's manager Ron Harris. And Bucky's Kosciusko County Fair appearance in July was captured by WAWC's photographer--their gallery features fun shots of Bucky and Rocky greeting fans and staff, along with a couple of performance photos.

Finally, stop in at Team Covington for some fun background about Bucky's Top Five day-by-day airplay, via Country Aircheck. Glad you're feeling better, Kathy!

More soon--enjoy your Friday!

I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Mr. and Mrs. Medlock yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Actually, September will be my first ever chance to hear the full band, so I am shamefully behind the times. Thanks for the link--gonna check that out!

And Anon 9:39, thank you for the Whitney Allen news--I'll pop that int the next post.

Anon 9:01, my pleasure! I love finding bits and bobs. Looks like Belpre was a classic outdoor show, and kudos to their terrific "official" photographer--he or she got some great shots.

Bucky has now dropped off the GAC Top 20 countdown. ADW was #19 last week. Can we get him back in??? YES, EVERYONE needs to vote EVERYDAY!!!.

Just an observation, If Kellie and Bucky are going for Adds the same day. How come her new single is getting airplay already?

my guess is cause ADW is still real high on a lot of station playlists. When it drops more (probably not till it goes recurrent), the stations will start adding G2BU
