Wednesday news: number 6 with a bullet, new tour dates and more...

First things first--Bucky Covington's hit single, "A Different World", moved up to #6 on the weighted chart and #7 on the Top 500 as of the Wednesday a.m. Mediabase listings. (Can't get any closer to Top Five than that!) I'm going to go ahead and add the usual nag...um, "reminder" to keep requesting "A Different World" at your favorite local and streaming country stations (and keep those "local "Top X at X" and nationally syndicated radio shows in mind, too) right here.

But I'll also add this--from here on out, the sky's the limit, y'all. Bucky's got a beautiful debut single leaping up the charts. How high can it go? Think big, dream large--and request a lot. (I bet you're thinking what I'm thinking. It is doable. Yes, it is.)

And in the "fair warning" department, here's a little advance notice from CMT.com--Bucky's video for "A Different World" faces a familiar challenger in a Power Picks matchup tomorrow. The program starts at 12 noon, ET; look for Bucky's video about mid-show. We'll post a reminder here tomorrow morning, old PC willing--and heaven knows our voting fingers are limber this week...

Finally, the major weekly online charts will be updated soon--look for a new Radio & Records/BDS singles chart as early as this afternoon, and Billboard's Top Country Albums chart will be posted on Thursday morning. It's fun to watch Bucky moving up in the world!
