Monday news: Power Picks, a poolside holiday and more...

Thanks for asking for this one, L.! By request, here's Bucky Covington sharing a funny moment with a faraway fan before his April show at the Whiskey Roadhouse in Council Bluffs: click here to enjoy a great Photobucket album full of concert and backstage photos by the very kind Moondancer. (Thanks again, Moon!) Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

Bucky's video for "A Different World" will face a head-to-head challenge on
CMT's Power Picks, which begins at 12 noon ET; click here to go directly to the Power Picks main page. At noon, hit the "Vote Now" button, keep that voting window open and get ready to mouse-click away...

We're hoping that many photos and memories from Bucky Covington's show in Jackson turn up over the course of the day--keep checking back! (Edited to add a link to a few nice photos from the show from a kind concertgoer who posted them in her public MySpace album--you'll need to be logged in to MySpace to view these.)

And his fans clear on the opposite side of the country (Las Vegas, that is), have a night of sweet musical memories on the horizon. From the KYCE 103.4 Coyote Country site :

July 4th join the Coyote for a free concert by Bucky Covington poolside at the Silverton Lodge and Casino starting at 8pm. This show is free for all ages but space is limited so get to the Silverton early!

We'd suggest getting there very early--a free 4th of July show by Bucky Covington, poolside, in Las Vegas? It doesn't get much better than that. Definitely a must if you're in the area!

And if you'll be in the State College, PA area next month, be sure to check out the State Theatre's ticketing page to see if any of this past weekend's excellent seats for Bucky's August 11th concert are still available. (Seats in the first four rows popped up when we checked on Saturday--if they're releasing those super close "production seats" early, I want you to snag some. Good luck!) Remember, you can always head to the tour page at Bucky's official site to see when Bucky, Rocky, Don, Hans and Shaun (and possibly Caitlin) are set to rock a stage close to you...

On the chart front, we'll pick up right where we left off last night--with the very exciting news of Bucky's single's bump on the charts on Sunday evening. As of this post it's moved to #11 on the Mediabase weighted chart and the Top 500. Does Bucky Covington indeed have a Top Ten debut single? We'd sure love to see it listed that way in the record books, and we can help make it happen. Keep requesting Bucky at your favorite local and streaming country stations, and remember your local "Top X at X" and nationally syndicated evening country radio shows, too. A lot of listeners are hearing the song for the very first time, or it's a relatively new song to them--here's our chance to help them fall in love with it, too. (Think of your request as a way to beautify the neighborhood airwaves...)

And for those who'd like to beautify the cable airwaves, voting at CMT's Top 20 Countdown and GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown is always in style. Yes, the song has fallen off the CMT countdown--it's currently still going strong at GAC--but no matter what, our votes are important. Supporting Bucky's current single on both country cable channels helps create a much friendlier environment for his future videos. That's a big benefit for a little mouse click!

Hits Daily Double 's album sales estimates will get rolling for the week at approximately 7:30 a.m. Pacific, with the final estimates posted tomorrow afternoon. Last week, Bucky's album came in at #11 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart--it's been a remarkably steady seller, maintaining a position in or near the Top Ten on that chart since its April release. Should be fun to watch the numbers fly today and tomorrow...

We'll close for now with a fun review of Bucky's album from an unusual source. We all enjoy our stops at the virtual Bucky Truck Stop at Rawkhands, where Sunscreen and company dish out tasty links, photos and news--but have you ever wondered what actual, real life truckers think of Bucky's CD? Wonder no more--eTrucker, a lifestyle magazine for over the road truckers, reviewed Bucky's album in their June issue, and writer Jon Rawl calls it "an impressive entry", going on to note that "the influence of Southern rock on the singer is apparent on many of the tracks. 'Carolina Blue' and 'Ain’t No Thing' are among the CD’s gems." You can read the full review right here. Enjoy!

More later--have a beautiful Monday...
