First look at Sunday: Opry revisited, a blast from the past and more

Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

If you've got GAC, you're in for a treat pretty soon--they'll be running an encore of Bucky's Grand Ole Opry turn in July. From the channel's site:

In this encore performance, Alison Krauss, Taylor Swift, Emerson Drive and Bucky Covington perform live on country's most famous stage — the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tenn. Host Nan Kelley also interviews the artists backstage.

You can click here for a list of air dates and times
--then get your TiVo/DVR/VCR set for a fun blast from the past.

Kathy's also got an enjoyable walk down memory lane for you at Team Covington--head over there for more details on Stewart Pittman's newly posted "Best of Viewfinder Blues", in which our favorite Lenslinger offers up many well-written, thought-provoking reflections on life in the local news business. Mr. Pittman covered Bucky's journey from aspiring Idol finalist to new recording artist with wit and style; head to Kathy's for handy links to his Idol-related blog posts, and curl up with some high quality retro-reading...

Returning to the present, Bucky's positions on the Mediabase charts will look quite familiar this morning--once again, he's #12 on the weighted chart, and #13 on the Top 500. Request "A Different World" at your favorite local and streaming country stations and support his sunlit video at CMT's Top 20 Countdown and GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown, and keep on picturing how sweet that "Top Ten debut single" description will be next to his name...

Bucky, Rocky, Don, Hans and Shaun (and possibly Caitlin Evanson, the fantastic, multi-talented fiddler/guitarist/singer/ charmer you'll remember from the GAC tour) will take the stage tonight at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson, Tennessee at 6 p.m. local time--if there are any tickets left at all, you'll be able to snag them here. For more info on Bucky's summer travels, visit the helpful tour page at his official site...his live show is a treat you'll savor all summer long!

Finally, a repeat photo link--if you're one of our newer readers, you may have missed out on some of the best concert photos of Bucky Covington and his band ever. Professional photographer Mike Clifton of Local Sports Online was on hand for Bucky Covington's concert at Wild Bill's in Atlanta in June, and his stunning gallery of shots from the show will knock your socks off. (Yes, they're that beautiful!) Thanks again to Mr. Clifton for his incredible images--and if you'd like to contact him directly about capturing your event, there's information right there at Smugmug.

More soon--have a lovely Sunday!
