The AboutCountry poll (updated with chart news and Power Picks info...)

Click the image to vote for Bucky Covington in the second round of the AboutCountry "Album of the Year" poll, now through July 30th.
Vote as often as you like, and feel free to repost this graphic at your website or MySpace.

There's a fierce competition in progress at the AboutCountry Awards "Album of the Year" poll! The voting ends July 30th, and with five very talented artists on the ballot, this promises to be one of the most popular online country music polls ever. Be sure to get your votes in for Bucky Covington's stellar debut album right away--click the image above to go directly to the voting page, then add it to your bookmarks and stop in often.

(As we mentioned before, there are a lot of opportunities out there to help Bucky's rising star rise even faster--radio requests for "A Different World" are priority one, and an online "Album of the Year" award would certainly be a sweet addition to Bucky's growing list of accomplishments. A hit single, a solidly-selling album--there's a lot to celebrate!)

Speaking of Bucky's hit single, our friend Marzy just shared some great news in comments--the latest Radio & Records/BDS country singles chart is out, and "A Different World" is officially #10 with a bullet! Huge thanks to everyone for voting, requesting, and supporting Bucky's beautiful song-this is a sweet, sweet milestone, y'all. And if you're a Lia, The Big Time with Whitney Allen , Danny Wright All Night or After Midnite listener, you've got plenty of opportunities to share Bucky's Top Ten hit with your fellow radio listeners across the country tonight. Call up, email in, request and enjoy! (Could a Top Five happy dance be in our future? Stay tuned...)

Another heads-up from comments reads as follows: "Bucky on Power Picks Thursday, at Noon EDT...should be 2nd or 3rd video." (Thanks, Anon!) There'll be another reminder here in the morning, but for right now, stand by and get ready to do some lunchtime mouse clicking tomorrow...

Finally, here's an excellent idea from Rachel, who writes: "Maybe you could arrange a 'vote in' for Bucky on the [About.com] "Album of the Year" site. It sure would be fun if a whole bunch of us got on at a certain time during the day. When you are voting and you see his numbers jump by more than one vote, it's exciting. It's great to see so many people come out and vote!" Sounds like fun to me, too--if you're up for it, post a note in comments and share what time would be best for you (morning, afternoon or evening), and we'll give it a spin. Thanks, Rachel!

More later--see you soon!--Winnie

About.com means very little...if you have time to click there it would be better to use that time to call and request ADW at your local radio station....mediabase means a billion times more than the About poll!

    > Bucky holds his own at 81 on the album chart, selling a little less than 9,000, a 6% drop, with a total of 214,000. A Different World takes a big jump on the track chart, 131-115, but that's more a consequence of the weak sales tallies for the week than anything else, as he sells the same slightly less than 8,000 amount as the previous week. Total for the track is 115,000.

    These numbers from Ken Barnes.

It looks like there are 4 artists free falling on the mediabase weighted chart. So a good jump could be in store for our Bucky. Top 5 here we come.

  9. Marzy, I believe so--R&R is owned by Billboard, so my guess would be yes. Awesome, awesome news--thanks! I am going to post that out front... :)

Yes about Billboard...but isn't it like 2 weeks behind because of publication dates?
