Tuesday news: CMA Fest, chart happenings and more...

Thanks again, Minnie! Love your photos. Bucky Covington strikes a chord with the crowd at last Saturday's KATM concert in Turlock; click here to enjoy a great set of concert photos by the very kind Minnie. (Thanks again!) Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

With Bucky and the band (and a lot of his luckier fans) getting prepared for CMA Fest in Nashville this week, the focus shifts to the charts, where there's great news on Mediabase this morning: Bucky's single "A Different World" is back up to at #14 on both the weighted chart and the Top 500, with a big bullet, to boot. We're still thinking Top Ten, y'all--we'll keep requesting Bucky at our favorite local and streaming country stations, and chances are that by the end of the week we'll have some brand new company on those request lines. Bucky's appearance on Good Morning America Thursday is likely to inspire quite a few newly minted fans to pick up their phones! If you'd like to be there live with Bucky on the rooftop at Graham Central Station for the show, scroll down to the previous post for all the details on attending the GMA taping.

CMT's Power Picks voting is still happening at this hour--be sure to hop on over there and show Bucky some affection before today's show at 12 noon ET. It'd be fun to see him have the lead-off video today! (And as always, give him a little applause at the GAC Top Twenty and CMT's Pure 12-Pack voting pages today, too; Bucky's been rocking those video countdowns these past few weeks, and he's topped all but the GAC rankings. A sweep is so close...)

Hits Daily Double finishes up this week's album sales estimates today--updates start at approximately 7:30 a.m. Pacific, and with a little under half the retailers reporting so far, Bucky's bounced back into the Top 50. Will he stay there? Stay tuned and hang on tight--there's always a wild ride at HDD.

Speaking of wild rides, there's word at the Fox boards that the CMT Artist poll we linked to yesterday is actually out of commission--no point in hitting that one if it's not actually polling anything now. (Better to put that energy toward a request or two...)

We'll have a full CMA Fest post soon, with links to help Bucky's fortunate Fest-going fans have a fantastic time. (We wish we could be there with you!) And for those of us who can't be there, there'll be plenty of media coverage to help us get a taste of the party in Music City--look for a roundup of what to watch and listen for as the CMA Fest draws closer.

Finally, be sure to stop in at Team Covington today, where Kathy shares some fun fashion tips from Bucky himself. (Ever wonder where he gets that fantastically cool jewelry? Kathy's got the scoop...)

More soon--have a terrific Tuesday!

  2. I do, too! He's got some really cool pieces. The Cali line is great-looking. (I used to love making my own jewelry out of recylcled and vintage elements--wish I had time nowadays! :)

(For the record--Bucky was not today's Power Picks winner. We are so ready to head into battle later this week, though...)
