By request, Bucky Covington strums in the sunshine at a recent outdoor show in Turlock, CA; click here to enjoy a beautiful set of concert photos by the very kind Minnie. Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.
If you love chart watching, you'll be a very happy Bucky Covington fan this morning. The good news starts at Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, where Bucky Covington, his debut CD, moves up one spot from last week, to #9. (Bucky's album has spent all of its chart time since its April release in or very near the Top Ten--a sweet feat for a new artist.) Congratulations, Bucky!
On the singles-chart front, today's Mediabase numbers tell a happy story; Bucky's "A Different World" comes roaring back at #13 with a bullet (yes!) on the weighted chart and hangs steady at #14 on the Top 500. (Our requests do make a big difference. Request Bucky at your favorite local and streaming country stations, and be sure to enjoy him on those great nationally syndicated country radio shows, too.) And on this week's latest Radio & Records/BDS country singles chart, Rodney Atkins does a polevault into the spot one notch above "A Different World", bumping Bucky to #16 after last week's two-point jump.
There's an excellent sales history posted at Bucky's fan thread at the Fox boards today; ogopogo notes that Bucky is trending upward in digital singles sales this week--a sure sign that his CMA Fest performance was a hit with iPod-toting music lovers. (Thanks, ogopogo! If you'd like to join that growing group, Bucky's entire album, as well as individual tracks, can be found at iTunes and WalMart Music.)
Tonight, Bucky, Rocky, Shaun, Hans and Don rock the the Lincoln Theater in Raleigh, NC (see the venue's site for more info), and tomorrow brings the much-anticipated gig at Wild Bill's in Duluth, GA. Lots of Bucky's Atlanta area fans are expected to pack this popular country venue--we'll be on the lookout for much in the way of photos and memories this weekend. (If you've made a last minute decision to go, good! Here's the Ticketmaster page...have an awesome time, and be sure to tell us all about it...) And if you're out of the area, hit Bucky's official tour page and make plans to be there when the bus rolls in your direction.
Kathy at Team Covington has a link to a charming story about hitmakers Heartland and their very sweet shout-out to Bucky in today's Huntsville Times. And be sure to stand by for that big announcement from on WIVK in Knoxville--listen live to hear it in real time. It's set for 9 a.m. ET. (Update--head to Team Covington now for details on the 2007 Foothills Fall Festival in Maryville, TN--looks like Bucky, Kellie and Bucky's very popular labelmate Trent Tomlinson will all be on the bill. Thanks, Kathy!)
Finally, remember to stop in at CMT's Top 20 Countdown and GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown and give Bucky some affection. (The Pure 12 Pack voting is done for the week, and Bucky's not listed for any Power Picks matchups today or tomorrow. A little time to take a deep breath and enjoy the music is a good thing...)
More later today--happy Thursday!
