Tuesday news: Power Picks, chart news, a video treat and more...

Thanks for writing, K! By request, Bucky Covington performs at the Complete Country Show at the Greased Lightning® Daytime Stages at Riverfront Park on Thursday, June 7 in Downtown Nashville during the 2007 CMA Music Festival. Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club. (Provided by Country Music Association. Photo: Teresa Montgomery/ CMA.)

Bucky's video for "A Different World" will face a head-to-head challenge on CMT's Power Picks, which begins at 12 noon ET; click here to go directly to the Power Picks main page. Bucky's matchup will happen during the first half of the show, so at noon, hit the "Vote Now" button, keep that voting window open and get ready to mouse-click away. Updated: Bucky won this matchup against Rodney Atkins with 51% of the vote. Congratulations and thanks to all who voted this afternoon!

(You can watch Bucky's gorgeously sunny video online any time, of course; visit his profile at CMT and catch it on Loaded, then give it a round of applause with your vote at CMT's Top 20 Countdown and GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown...)

In chart news, Bucky's hanging in looking very good on Mediabase, with the #12 spot on the weighted chart and #13 on the Top 500. (A detailed look at those listings reveals just how tantalizingly close we are to giving Bucky that Top Ten debut single for the history books--and what a sweet gift that's going to be.) Keep requesting "A Different World" at your favorite local and streaming country stations, and take heart in knowing that new folks are joining us on those phones all the time. The lyrics of the song and Bucky's heartfelt vocals have touched a lot of brand-new listeners, and he's charming a lot of folks out on the road, too, as this fun recap makes abundantly clear.

Bucky's got a few days off, but he'll be back on stage with Sawyer Brown at the Idaho Center Ampitheatre on the 29th, before starting off an incredibly busy July that'll take the show everywhere from Nevada to Delaware. Click here to see when Bucky, Don, Shaun, Hans and Rocky will grace a stage near you...

And if you're looking for even more excitement, Hits Daily Double has you covered--the album sales estimates for the week wind up later today, and Tuesdays are always a wild ride. With 60% or so of retailers reporting, Bucky Covington is currently a Top 50 contender. Billboard's Top Country Albums list will tell the full story on Thursday; we'll have the latest news for you right here, so come on back.

Finally, here's a late-night fun find that I wanted to repeat for the morning crew; if you're a fan of Bucky Covington's passionate live cover version of the Elvis Presley classic "Suspicious Minds" (I'm with you), you'll get a kick out of this great YouTube clip from earlier this month--enjoy! (Thanks to a kind anonymous friend for the tip.)

More soon--have a great Tuesday!
