Sunday news: First word from the B93 Birthday Bash and more...

By request, Bucky Covington strums along at a recent outdoor show in Turlock, CA; click here to enjoy a beautiful set of concert photos by the very kind Minnie. Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

There's a text story and a video clip about the B93 Birthday Bash at WXMI/Fox 17 in Grand Rapids, and both feature Bucky:

A country guy with some country style. He may not be America's idol but Bucky Covington sure won the votes in West Michigan Saturday as he took the stage at the B-93 Birthday Bash in Ionia.

"This has been huge, probably the biggest. I love festivals," said Covington. "These are country people and they come to see country music."

And this morning's Grand Rapids Press has almost a full page of Covingtonian anecdotes from the day posted at the MLive site, including a quote from a delighted fan who came all the way from Virginia to be there (and got a hug and a sweet autograph to take home) as well as this tidbit:

Bucky Covington and his twin brother, Rocky (who plays drums in Bucky's road band), take their motorcycle riding seriously. As soon as Bucky and crew arrived at the fairgrounds, two high-performance bikes were unloaded from a trailer pulled by the tour bus. In fact, during Dierks Bentley's closing set, Bucky and Rocky were getting ready to ride the bikes to Farwell, where Covington performs tomorrow at the Mountain Country Music Festival. "We ride whenever we can," noted Rocky.

In another article about the festival, the paper noted: "The audience was a little subdued until 'American Idol' star Bucky Covington brought fans to their feet about halfway through the day." There should be lots more on yesterday's Bash at the B93 site as the day unfolds--here's a link to the listener photo gallery to start things off. Stay tuned...and congratulations to everyone who was at the Bash yesterday. Sounds like you had a fantastic time!

The good times (and the motorcycles!) keep rolling today; Bucky, Don, Rocky, Hans and Shaun are set to rock the happy crowd at
the inaugural Mountain Country Music Festival in Farwell at 6 p.m. From everything we've heard, Bucky Covington live in a festival atmosphere is a must-see-and-hear! To find out when he'll be gracing a stage near you, check out the full tour schedule at Bucky Covington.com.

"A Different World" is still #13 on the Mediabase weighted chart and #15 on the Top 500 this morning--with increasing bullets on both charts today. Looking good--thanks to everyone for the requests and dedications! As always, request Bucky at your favorite local and streaming country stations, and show his sunlit video some love at CMT's Top 20 Countdown and GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown, too.

And finally, be sure to visit the newly updated (and always fabulous) Bucky Truck Stop at Rawkhands this morning--the perfect way to start off the rest of your weekend...

More soon--happy Sunday, y'all!

Does anyone know who the girl is playing the fiddle with the band now? She was also playing guitar in one of the pictures on the radio's site. She looks sort of like the girl that played and sang back up on the GAC Christmas tour. Is she part of the band now. I sure hope so...what a great addition.

    Quote from Beeisms:
That is the same girl that played the fiddle on the GAC tour. Her name is Caitlin Evanson and she is very talented in her own right. Check out her website:
