Tuesday news: Belly Up, sunny memories and more...

Thanks, Mr. Crisler! Bucky Covington and Rocky Covington (on drums) on stage May 10th at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville; visit Music City Update for a beautiful gallery of concert photos by Aaron Crisler. Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club. Photo by Aaron Crisler/ Music City Update.com

We'll start off the day with an important request for...well, important requests. It's true that a few other songs from Bucky Covington have been getting some airplay lately (most notably "I'll Walk" and "Bible and the Belt" which have been heard enough to hit #82 and #83 on the Mediabase Top 500), but "A Different World" is still going strong--strong enough to make the Top Ten soon with a little help from Bucky's friends! (That'd be us.)

A Top Ten hit is a fantastic way to start off a career, and what better way to begin that thirty-year winning streak Bucky's spoken of so often? Our requests do matter (see here for a long, detailed explanation of just how and why), and giving as many people as possible the chance to hear Bucky's beautiful debut single is a sweet way of showing support. Whether it's during the week or on the weekends, if your local country station carries syndicated programs like After Midnite, Lia, The Big Time with Whitney Allen , Danny Wright All Night or the Bo Reynolds Show , you've got a bonus opportunity to share "A Different World." Even shy people like me can send an email; better yet, pick up the phone! Top Ten is so close we can taste it...

How close? Bucky's now #15 on both the the Top 500 and weighted Mediabase charts as of the Tuesday morning listings.

If you'd like to hear Bucky's Top 15 single--and more of his excellent music from his debut CD--head to the the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, California tonight, where Bucky, Rocky and the band will rock the house. The award-winning Kelly Bowlin Band open the show, and the doors open at 8 p.m. Pacific--show starts at 9. California fans, be sure to have a good time for all of us! You can find out when he'll be be rockin' a stage near you via the tour page on his official site.

And if it's memories from past live shows you're looking for, there's plenty to choose from today--we'll repeat this weekend's links to Pizzi's beautiful gallery from Bucky's recent Hershey performance and this great Zellwood concert recap by Happydays, complete with a cute photo album. The newest reminiscences come from the very kind Lisa of Buck Wild fame, who shares short videos from her fun day on her HappyBirthdayCovingtons MySpace, and a nice recap on her blog there. (Huge thanks to Kathy of Team Covington for the news.)

Those of us far away from California (sigh!) can enjoy Bucky via his very popular music video for "A Different World"--give it some love at at the GAC Top Twenty and CMT's Pure 12-Pack voting pages today. We're still looking for that #1 at GAC--click that link and help make it happen!

We'll close for right now with a link to Hits Daily Double, where the weekly album sales estimate charts will start up shortly, and to the Bucky Truck Stop at Rawkhands, where Sunscreen and company have some lovely updates for your viewing and reading pleasure. (And a reminder--we're still taking store names and numbers for those who can't find Bucky's CD on their local retail shelves--please leave your info in comments or zap me an email if that's your situation.)

See you very soon--have a beautiful Tuesday!

It would of been nice to have a few more updates from HDD, it jumped from 41% to final. Now im completely lost, if all access is even close Bucky's sales would of been around 10k. It is really possible Bucky could be #10 for country this week. There are 9 country artists showing in the top 50. *crosses fingers~and toes*

I don't know how to post things, but check out countryuniverse.net - Search "Bucky Covington". This is an amazing article (dated 4/18), based on the fact of a Dec. 06 article he did that was absolutely horrible about Bucky. Talk about a convert!!! BTW, couldn't find the 1st one this afternoon, but I'm sure it's there somewhere. (Don't think I've seen this on any of the sites, anyway).

  5. Hi Debbie, Anons and Chan! :)

Debbie, I love those syndicated shows--wish we got Lia here. We do get Blair, and he is awesome! I love that "A Different World" seems to be a part of the show so often...

Anon 3:12, thanks for the update. I'm curious about that too! A return to the Top 10 would be wonderful. Crossing my fingers right along with you-can't wait to know for sure. (Never did manage to learn how to cross my toes, though... :)

Anon 3:24 thanks and I remember that well--that was quite a turnabout! You have to give the Country Universe writer credit for keeping an open mind about the album, considering the fact that he was absolutely, postively not a fan! I'm pretty sure I wrote about his review during release week, but it's good to be reminded of how much of a pleasant surprise Bucky's solid CD was to a lot of critcs. Thank you!

Chan, hi there! It's good to see you--thanks so much for the heads up on the Belly Up conference call! I'll post the numbers when the show starts. (I can't be on the call, but I know you'll have a great time--enjoy!)
