Monday news: a rave of a review, and a day to rest...

Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is now available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, preview his entire CD at Clear Channel Music, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

Reality TV Magazine's very enthusiastic review of Bucky Covington's debut CD is a must-read this Monday morning. Among the many compliments the reviewer pays Bucky, Mark Miller and the songwriters, this concluding line stands out: "A great singer, great songs, and the ability to connect with an audience all adds up to a singer who is going to have a very long career." We couldn't agree more...

Otherwise, it's a fairly low-key Monday. (Sure do miss those Monday Bucky Diaries at USA Today! Bucky's his own best blogger...) From the looks of the concert schedule at his official site, Bucky, Rocky and company can enjoy a few days off to relax; the next listed event is a show sponsored by The Eagle 97.3/WGH in Norfolk, VA. This past weekend's performances are still causing a happy commotion, though--you can read more from the satisfied concertgoers who were there at the Fox boards and at Bucky's official boards (registration required).

It's a new week, and a new Billboard Top Country Albums chart is on the way in a few short days. Hits Daily Double will be updating album sales estimates starting at approximately 7:30 a.m. Pacific, with the final estimates posted tomorrow afternoon. The new Mediabase charts weren't posted as of this hour; last night's evening rankings found Bucky's "A Different World" up a notch at #19 on both the weighted and Top 500 charts. Request Bucky at your local country station and help keep the momentum going!

We can also help on the video countdowns, today--stop in at CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack countdown and GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown and give Bucky a round of applause. Today's CMT Power Picks is a mystery; there's a link for today's matchups on the show's "featured episode" page, but it goes to the video challenges for Wednesday! We hope the puzzle will be solved soon--in the meantime, it can't hurt to have that voting window open and the TV tuned to CMT at noon ET today to see if Bucky's familiar face appears...

And we'll close for now with yet another mystery--a friend says she's pretty sure she heard Bucky's name mentioned during a GAC promo for their pre-ceremony coverage of the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. The GAC show begins at 7 p.m. ET on May 15th, and the awards air on CBS that evening. Are Bucky's fans in for a television treat that night? Stay tuned--and if you have any details or confirmation, please let us know in comments. (We do know for sure that Bucky's perfomance on Jimmy Kimmel Live repeats on May 15th on ABC, so if you get all three channels, you're guaranteed a night of excellent TV.)

More soon--happy Monday!

What the heck is get fuzzy?

Hey...obviously some peeps in Ohio are way out of it that they do not know all about the man who scored a number one country album which was the highest debut by a male act in over 15 years. :D GO BUCKY!

  3. Hey, Dina and Anon!

(Waves to all the Test Pattern visitors--howdy!)

Sorry to disappoint the Get Fuzzy fans out there--but if Bucky Katt ever puts out a country CD, we might have a spinoff site soon...

Guess this would be a good spot for the standard disclaimer--I am not affiliated with Bucky (Covington or Katt) Lyric Street records, Bucky's management, etc. I am an unpaid, organically-grown Bucky Covington listener who likes to write...a lot!

Having said all that, here's a sneaky segue--you can listen to Bucky's entire debut CD for free right here:

    Bucky Covington (album stream)

    Enjoy!

  5. Hey, Rickey Henderson--welcome!

I'm cool with folks promoting their blogs here...but since this one's linked to just about every K-12 school in North Carolina, I had to edit your "ride" reference--sorry 'bout that.

    Here's Rickey's blog:

I looks like Bucky may finish in the top 8 for country albums this week. Not bad at all, right now he is #24 on HDD with 12k+ 63% reported.

  8. Thanks for the good news, Anon--sounds like he'll be holding steady for the week, which is great. And that repeat of his Jimmy Kimmel Live performance on the 15th will give a lot of new listeners a taste of some other tracks from the CD...I think May will be a good month!
