Friday news: live B-95 Radiothon, ACM party time, CMT Insider and more...

This one's for you, B.N.--thanks for writing and have a great weekend!By request, Bucky Covington in a promo photo taken earlier this spring. (Thanks for writing!) Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

Bucky's one of the many Lyric Street stars and executives pictured in a great photo accompanying an Academy of Country Music Awards wrapup at The Tennessean today--check out his pose with labelmate Sarah Buxton at the front of the snap. Looks like a fun time was had by all!

Today, he'll be taking part in the B95/Children's Wish Fund Radio-thon; the station is broadcasting live today from the Genesee Valley Center Court in Flint, MI. B-95 offers online streaming, so tune in, help out a great cause, and if you're in the area, say hi to Bucky for us! (No word on the site about when he'll be performing in the Radiothon, but if a schedule surfaces, I'll post it right here. If you're a B-95 listener, please feel free to share any info in comments--we'd love to know more.)

And of course, yesterday was Bucky's big show at Coyote's in Louisville--several of his biggest fans were on hand to enjoy the music and fun, so keep an eye out for photos and memories as the day goes on. If you'd like to enjoy a concert memory of your own, remember that Bucky will be part of Saturday's huge Downtown Hoedown in beautiful Detroit, Michigan! WYCD is sponsoring the free (yes, free) festival, and they've got an entire sub-site with all the info you'll need to make it a fantastic day.

Chartwise, we've got a wild day ahead, with a huge battle brewing in the lower teens. Bucky's single, "A Different World" is now #18 on the Mediabase weighted listings and #19 on the Top 500, with a bullet on each chart. The wild ride continues on CMT's Top 20 Countdown, too, where Bucky has moved up to #3! Huge congratulations to Bucky--"A Different World" is chugging right along. (If you'd like to keep it chugging along, give Bucky a round of applause on the CMT Pure 12-Pack and GAC Top Twenty ballots, and kick your weekend off right with a request for Bucky at your local country station today.)

In other CMT news, our friend Sunscreen of Bucky Truck Stop fame shares this delightful blurb from CountryAircheck: "Lyric Street's Bucky Covington will be on CMT Insider this Saturday (5/19) as a special correspondent from Tuesday's ACM Awards." My tech limitations won't let me see videos at CMT, but by all accounts, his "CMT Outsider" web-only correspondent gig was a hoot and a half--so if this is anything like that, it's a "must-see" for sure! You can catch the fun on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET, with several repeats over the weekend.

I'll be back a little later--have a fun Friday!
