(Edited to add a link to a
podcast of Bucky's interview on WPOC in Baltimore yesterday morning*--so far, no photos from last night's Cinco de Mayo show have been posted in the station's photo gallery, but check back later today...)

*Turns out this is one of the many times when my tech limitations ruined my accuracy--I can't hear this, but a friend who can tells me it's actually an older interview. My apologies--W

Bucky Covington's "A Different World" faces another live video challenge on today's CMT Power Picks; he'll be in the middle portion of the show, which begins at 12 noon ET. Tune in and head over to CMT.com, and keep the "Vote Now" voting screen open--it'd be nice to end the week with a sweet victory. (Edited--Blake Shelton won this matchup with 51% of the vote. Stay tuned for more Power Picks next week...)

There's already some good news today at CMT's Top 20 Countdown, where Bucky's video moved up two notches this week to take the #6 spot. Host Lance Smith mentioned Bucky's status as the male country artist with the highest selling debut week since Billy Ray Cyrus' Some Gave All. You can catch the countdown again at 1:30 PM ET today.

And the "good news" theme keeps going at Mediabase, where Bucky's single hopped up to #19 on the Friday a.m. weighted chart and holds at a strong #20 on the Top 500. (Feel free to help keep the momentum going--ask for Bucky at your local country station this weekend!)

Tonight, Bucky and country legend Kenny Rogers play the Salem Civic Center in Roanoke, Virginia. (This isn't the first time they've had the pleasure of meeting--click here for our recap of Kenny's coaching and Bucky's beautiful "Best I Ever Had" performance a little over a year ago on American Idol. And yes...I do miss that hat.) Special Olympics Virginia will benefit from tonight's show; last-minute seats might still be available at Tickemaster.com.

The Roanaoke Times ran a tongue-in-cheek "eerie coincidences" sidebar about Kenny and Bucky today--the first part of the article is a now-familiar syndicated profile of Bucky, but scroll down for the new bit. Warning: Bucky does get snarked on a little in this one--but with a #1 debut under his belt and reviews like this one popping up all over the place, we think he can laugh about it. (Thanks to Becky for the heads-up.)

And we'll close for a moment with a new, working link to CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack countdown, as well as GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown...give Bucky a round of applause with your votes today!

More very soon...

Did my weekly check...no Bucky in this week's Country Weekly.

I did notice side by side reviews of Blake and Miranda....he got 3 stars and she got 4 stars....do you think she ripped that page out and hung it on their refrigerator? hahahaha
