Coffee break time: I see new people... (updated 6:30 p.m. ET)

Howdy and welcome to all our first time visitors from MSNBC--happy to have you along! If you'd like to hear and see what all the fuss is about, here's a quick link to Bucky Covington's video for "A Different World" on CMT.com's Loaded. (And if you'd like a great soundtrack for your lunch break, check out his debut album, Bucky Covington, also available as streaming audio on CMT.com.) Just for the record, I'm not affiliated with Bucky, his label, or anyone official at all--I'm just a very pleased fan. Enjoy, and I hope you'll stop in again--Winnie

Edited to add a link to a wild (and funny) bit of pop-culture-meets-politics satire by Shawn Lewis of the Greenwood Index-Journal, in which Bucky gets a sweet shoutout...

Updated: The final Hits Daily Double estimates are in for the week, and it looks like Bucky's album is the very definition of a "steady seller"--a big 0% change from last week to this one may indicate that quite a few copies of Bucky Covington are in the hands of some brand new, freshly minted fans--and we're only on the first single of a hit-packed CD. (This album's far too good to be dismissed as an "Idol souvenir".) Bucky will more than likely hold on to his #9 spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart this week, pending final Soundscan numbers. Congratulations!

And a TV reminder--the "orange carpet" coverage of the Academy of Country Music Awards is about to start on GAC. Tune in at 7 p.m. ET to catch the excitement, then watch the awards on CBS at 8 ET.

See you soon!

  4. Hello, Anon, Anon and Anon...

Anon 11:07, I agree--Shawn Lewis must have had fun putting that one together! (And I wonder if John Edwards ever did vote for Bucky during Idol last year, with the NC loyalty and all...)

Anon 12:05, hi--my neighbor told me last week that MSNBC's Test Pattern blog (TV and pop-culture are the main topics) had linked Buckymania, so I looked and lo and behold, the link was there--along with a funny blurb from someone who was bummed that the blog isn't a "Get Fuzzy" fansite. :) I see Anon 12:15 has the URL (thanks--Dina, is that you?); you'll have to scroll down a little to find the blurb. Hey, I'm happy to see new faces, even with snarky intentions...

I'd have to agree, he IS the total package.
And I love; "you, ma'am, are no Keith Richards"
That made me really laugh. I love Keith
    Richards!

    Have a great day,
    Chan

With the numbers I have so far....Bucky total sales according to HDD numbers only....119,328...

I feel bad for Paris B, no sign of her in the top 50. OUCH..

  10. Hi, Chan and Anons! Chan, you and I must think alike--I have an odd soft spot for Keith, too. :) And anons, thanks for the sales update--steady sales are very good news, and that does indeed indicate sales beyond his Idol-gained fans! I'll update this post with the results--Bucky's got an awesome CD going, and it's just getting started when it comes to hits...

I'm not sure if Paris had the benefit of a steady-climbing single released in advance of her CD--if not, a good solid hit should get her album going as the summer gets started, and the high school and college students enjoy vacation with the car audio turned up high. :) She is a talented, cute girl with a powerhouse voice and I wish her all the best!
