Coffee break news

Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is now available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, preview his entire CD at Clear Channel Music, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

Aside from the fun news from WKRN's "Best Cellars" coverage--now with added video you won't want to miss!--things are fairly quiet this afternoon. Hits Daily Double is still tallying up sales estimates as of this hour. (Final estimates are in--looks like Bucky's album will be #7 or so on the Top Country Albums chart this week. We'll have the Billboard link as soon as the new charts are available.)

On the Mediabase front, today's afternoon Top 500 and weighted charts show "A Different World" holding firm at #20, with a strong bullet on both rankings.

Tonight, Bucky Covington's radio promo tour continues with a stop at 99.5 The Wolf in Dallas. If you're in the area, keep it tuned to the Wolf for the latest info; and if you're following along at home on the stream, enjoy!

More news later--Winnie

Well final numbers are in and he dropped 62% so I guess I was full of sh*t, lol. Nothing is final until Billboard comes out tomorrow though.

On the positive side, all the new releases last week dropped that much - NIN's dropped something like 72%. So I hope this doesn't give people too much angst - second week sales can be a bummer but I'm sure he'll bounce back with a number that's slow and steady.

  2. Yep, the HDD last-minute fluctuations strike again. Honestly, it's about as bad as Power Picks sometimes...

As you might have guessed, I think you've got a great point there--last week's big new releases really did take some serious hits, regardless of genre.

I am all about the big picture with this CD, especially with so many potential singles. It was fantastic to debut at #1 last week, but the steady sales through the rest of the year might be the big story when all's said and done.
