Thursday news: After Midnite, two TV channels and more...

By request (again!), Bucky Covington in a promo photo from a recent photoshoot; visit his MySpace to see more. Bucky's music video is now available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can pre-order Bucky's debut CD at Amazon, Best Buy and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be pre-ordered at his official site or via his official fan club.

Here's some wonderful news to start off the day--Bucky Covington's "A Different World" made a big impression on Blair Garner's nationally syndicated After Midnite radio show last night. How big, you ask? The song breezed through the Pick It or Flick It round at 93% picked. Ninety-three percent! I think it's safe to assume that this is the beginning of a beautiful run on the After Midnite playlist. (And they do take requests, by the way--hit the "Contact" link at the show's site for the number to call.) Huge thanks to all who've requested Bucky's single on Blair's excellent show--and congratulations to Bucky! (Big thanks to Laurianne for the kind heads-up.)

Bucky's also a big part of the most recent official Opry Update newsletter; he's listed (and pictured) as a member of Saturday's star-laden lineup at the Grand Ole Opry, and the Opry Trust Fund auction featuring items donated and signed by Bucky is featured. And to top it all off, there's a contest to win an autographed copy of Bucky's CD. Check Opry Update for details on how to enter, and good luck! The contest ends on Monday, April 9th, so click that link now and don't miss out...

Saturday's Grand Ole Opry performance will be televised live on GAC, of course--but that's just the most dazzling of your many chances to enjoy Bucky on televsion in the next few days. Here's a quick look at what's in store for your set:

Thursday, April 5
CMT -Bucky Covington visits with Lance Smith on the set of CMT's Top 20 Countdown to talk about his debut video, "A Different World" (4 p.m. ET; repeat airtimes here)

GAC - Bucky Covington joins host Storme Warren for the latest installment of Country Music Across America to talk about pairing with Sawyer Brown's Mark Miller for his upcoming album (9 p.m. ET; repeat airtimes here)

Friday, April 6
GAC - Bucky Covington and Nan Kelly talk about his video and upcoming album during GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown (9 p.m. ET; repeat airtimes here)

Saturday, April 7
GAC - Bucky Covington makes his televised Grand Ole Opry debut, performing songs from his self-titled debut, set for release on April 17 (8 p.m. ET; repeat airtimes here)

(And while we're talkin' television, Bucky's next CMT Power Picks video-challenge matchup is scheduled for Tuesday, April 10th at the show's new time, 12 noon ET. )

Kathy at Team Covington has an interesting slice of news about another possible CCE--that's "Circuit City Exclusive", for us non-techies. Could there be a very fun freebie in the works for those buying Bucky's CD at Circuit City the week of April 17th? No confirmation yet, but stay tuned to Kathy's beautiful blog for updates...

Last but not least, here are those convenient voting links: give "A Different World" a hand on GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown, and feel free to request Bucky via email to country@wkml.com for the WKML "Top 5 at 6", then listen to the stream at 6 p.m. ET to see where he lands on the countdown. And be sure to request Bucky at your local country station today--our requests really do make a huge difference, especially this week!

(If you're in the market for very specific info on how to help Bucky out as the CD release approaches, join his official street team--free and fun, with a wild message board full of dedicated fans! Or go all the way, join the official Bucky Covington fan club, and get a fun limited edition t-shirt and an autographed CD among many other thank-you-goodie options. Infomercial over, y'all...)

Edited to add a look at the latest Radio & Records BDS chart--Bucky Covington's "A Different World" comes in at #27 with a bullet, up a notch from last week.

More soon!

  2. Hi, Marzy! I'm sorry you were Both the WGAR.com and the podcast page links are working okay for me as of right now...it could be that the station's site was having problems a few moments ago.

I'll post the links here again--if you're still having problems, let me know. (Sometimes clearing the cache on your computer and/or closing and reopening the browser helps if all else fails.)

    Here are those links:

  7. Marzy, that is a bummer! I am so sorry WGAR isn't working for you--we are just across the lake from Canada, so shutting Canadain listers out is a bad idea. I hope they'll reconsider!

Laurianne and Kathy--thanks for the info. After Midnite is huge! It's really exciting to hear the syndicated shows adding "A Different World" to the playlist. :)
